When Crickets Cry...

Mike nervously chewed his nails, he was hear secretly, at this mental institution called Spiraling Oaks. He had finally traced Zac's youngest baby back to this hospital for the mentally insane and this...Well this was the only time he ever hopped that he would not find the baby, not find the poor child here. But luck never seemed on Mike's side. He was lead down a hall, everything was white and sterilized. He was lead to a room at the end, his escort opened the door and for the first time Mike caught a look of his great grand baby, sitting on the floor with a million pieces of a clock laid out infront of him.
He knew it was Angel as soon as he laid eyes on him....
The boy should have been fourteen, just like the rest of the children as of one day ago. Mike was on edge, the way the boy shook, and muttered to himself.
It was scary.Crickets
"Hello...Angel?"
The childs head snapped up, his gaze falling on Mike.
"Depends, who wants to know?" The voice was quiet, barely a whisper but it was so cold...
"Im his great grand mother."
The boy paused, weighing it in his head before nodding.
In a few weeks would be Zac's birthday.....
Mike would try and get to kid out of the hospital and home for his mothers birthday.
But for now he sat on the bed and watched at the small boy pieced the clock back together.

Zac had been going crazy, he had kiled another one of Quincy's babies and now they couldn't find it.... he'd been constantly on his memaw, bugging him to keep looking. He felt sort of bad for being so rude, he knew memaw was trying. He just wanted his baby so bad...

It was finally Zac's birthday. Kevin and Rick had moved back home so everyone was at Quincy's for his party. Mike was nervous, he had gotten a deal to have Angel brought here today...
But he was crazy...Mike had seen that already..

Zac didn't know that Mike had found his baby finally so he was planning on it just being another normal birthday.
"Oh GOD I'm OLD!" He exclaimed as he hugged his father. THey didn't see each other much now days.
Rick laughed.
"Yes you are. Old man." He ruffled his hair.

Kevin pulled his baby into a hug.
"God, you make me feel old. Stop aging damnit."
Mike was creeping around the room.

"You are old momma." He grinned. "So am I." He whined. "And Quincy's ancient." He winked at his lover.

Quincy rolled his eyes and flipped Zac off.
"Your such a brat." He chuckled at his lover.
They visited, had a big cake made by Mike and Kevin, and they opened presents before singing.
Only one he didnt get a present from was Mike.

Zac noticed Mike didn't get him a present but he wasn't the selfish type to mention that.Mike had gone to so much work putting the party together in the first place.
"THank you momma, memaw, daddy, everyone." He smiled, hugging his mother, father, grandma and grampa.

Mike smiled at him and stepped outside, he was gone for over an hour before stepping back inside.
"Zac...I have a very special present for you today but...Im not so sure you will like it..."

Zac tilted his head to the side.
"Memaw I'm sure I'll love it."

Mike muttered something before opening the door and pulling in a boy, looked to be as old as the octuplets, his grayish eyes scanning the room over coldly.
"Zac, This is....Angel."
The boy yanked away and have him a hostile look.
"Don't touch me Mike." He hissed, his teeth grinding together as the voices in his head screamed at him, screamed about the people, about where he was, about what to do...
He wanted them to shut up.

Zac blinked, letting out a tiny, barely audible gasp.
His baby...
"Angel...?"

Angel looked up at him.
"What?" He asked lowly as he inched away from Mike.
Everyone was the enemy.
Higgy being one of the guest grinned and stood up.
"Whats up Angel?"
The boy glared at him, his hand coming up to hold his head.
"What? They talking to you?"
"Yes....Make them stop..."
"Can't Precious." He patted the boys back, Mike gaped at them.
"How in the hell? He wont let me touch him!"
"I don't fucking like you." Angel snapped.
Mike was quiet.

Zac looked up at Quincy worriedly. He quickly caught on. Angel wasn't normal... He kept his voice quiet as he spoke.
"Angel, I'm your momma..."

Angel scoffed.
"Yeah, great hello mommy." He rolled his eyes, laughing hollowly. "Like I give a fuck."
Higgy shook his head.
"Zac...He is mental..."
"Oh fuck you Higgy!"
"Which voice told you to say that."
"All of them, you piss me off."
Higgy picked up a dirty dish and held it took him. Angel hissed, scurrying away and hugging himself.
"This place is Disgusting..."
Mike stepped over to Zac.
"He was in a mental institution...He is crazy..."
Angel's eyes raised to Mike, glaring at him hatefully.
"What was that bitch?"
"N-Nothing..."

Zac sighed, hurt a bit, but he nodded.
"Why not?" He shrugged, laughing hollowly to himself. Everyone here was fucked up, why not his baby? Great, just great.
He watched Angel carefully.

Higgy kept Angel off to the side so he does not flip on anyone.
Mike sighed.
"I told you, you might not like it baby....He....He has alot of...problems, he is in and out of a mental institution all the time. When out he lives alone..."

"I'm not happy he's.... insane. But, I love him. I just met him but I love him. He's my baby... Its all my fault he's like this anyways. So I'm going to deal with it eventually." He nodded with a sigh.

"Well...maybe we should put him back in the institution until we find out everything about him." Mike sighed as Angel muttered to himself.

"Maybe you're right...." He sighed softly as he watched his baby. "One sec. Only Vikki and Brayden are home right now. I know Vikki will listen if I tell her not to bother him and Brayden... well I'll deal with him."
Brayden was the rebel of the seven, well now eight. Vikki walked in, hugging her mother, wishing him a happy birthday before asking who Angel was.

Higgy and Angel were talking and Higgy just seemed to get pissed.
He looked at Mike.
"He aint going back tonight, he will go home with me."
Angel shook his head.
"I wanna go home."
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because your jacked up on whatever the hell they give you and you'll hurt yourself."
"Up yours..."
"Only if you'll stick it up there."
Angel bit his nails, his body shaking violently as Higgy stepped over to Mike.
"They got him on something and its making him really..violent, worse then usual and I wont have it so he is coming home with me, he will be more comfortable with me. I have known him for a while."

Vikki was eyeing the boy strangely until a look of realization washed over her.
"Momma...thats Angel?"
"Yes it is sweety."
"Oh!" She grinned, she'd always wanted to meet her brother.
"But you can't see him yet."
"Okay momma." She didn't bother arguing.

Angel ventured over to Mike, standing behind Higgy.
"So...Mother dear, do I have a father?" Higgy reached behind him and got Angel in a headlock.
"No one wants to talk to crazy people like you."
"Crazy....is a mean word Mr.Hinderson."
"Oh?"
"Oh?" He mocked. "I prefer Mentally unstable."

"Vikki, go get your daddy please." Zac asked softly. Vikki obediently walked off. "And imma regret this but get Brayden too." He nodded.
Vikki returned a minute later with Quincy and Brayden behind her.
"So, this is my lil bro?" Brayden raised an eyebrow at Angel.
"Yeah, but be quiet or somethin. He's crazy." Vikki nodded.
"Nah, he ain't crazy. He's weird lookin."
"Brayden, Vikki, hush. He's.... mentally unstable." Zac repeated.

Angel stared at them.
"Alright, bitch." He looked at Viki. "Wearing that shirt and those shoes together, was crazy." And his gaze fell on Brayden. "And you, your one to call me weird looking, coming up here and jumping on me like bitch in heat."
Higgy busted out laughed, putting a hand over Angel's mouth.
