Mending

Zack was far too giddy that night as he walked into his and Curt's apartment. They'd been dating for two years. It was their anniversary. Zack had been saving up for the past few months to buy Curt this designer hoodie he had wanted. He'd just bought it, then rushed home, excited to give it to his lover. He turned the knob to the bedroom door.
"Oh god Curt YES! Right there!"
Zack's heart stopped at what he saw as he entered the room. Curt pounding into fucking Trent.
"I-I... Curt?" He stammered softly, tears welling up in his eyes.
Curt's head whipped around.
"Zack! Hey! Baby!" Curt grinned nervously as if Trent was not even there.
"You..." Zack looked so innocent, his head tilted to the side, big brown eyes so hurt, confused... trusting.
"Baby I love you. I was just..."
"You were just fucking him!" Zack screamed. It was finally sinking in.
"No baby no. It wasn't what it looked like..." Curt shook his head.
"HAPPY FUCKING ANNIVERSARY!" Zack screamed, tossing the hoodie at him and storming out of the door.
Tears blurred his vision as he got in the car. He didn't know where he was going or what he was going to do when he got there but he needed to go.
He eventually stopped driving when he got to some old bar. He slammed the door shut and walked inside, taking a seat on a bar stool.

Mike was sitting at the same bar, just hanging out like he always was. It was karaoke night so he and Randy and Cody were out at the club looking for someone they may be interested in. Mike noticed Zack as soon as he stepped into the bar. His eyes followed him, carefully examining every move he made. It was obvious he was upset about something, and it was not so obvious that he had caught the eyes of a predator. Mike was very subtle, no one noticed he was watching the other man.
Game on.

Zack didn't drink. Often. He'd heard to many stories of people getting hurt or worse when drunk and he didn't want to chance anything.But right now he didn't give a fuck. He pounded back glass after glass.

Mike watched the man with an amused smirk on his face. He had to be an idiot to down those drinks like he was. Mike knew better but he also knew what it was like to drink like that because he was upset. Not that it happened any more but still. He kept an eye on Zack.

Within the next half hour Zack was so drunk he couldn't walk in a straight line. He noticed that it was karaoke night and he didn't think twice before grabbing the mic. Normally he was shy but that all changed when he was this wasted.

Mike shook his head.
This could not be good, the man was going to make a fool out of himself.

And sure enough, he was. He was belting out the lyrics to everything from Nickelback to Justin Bieber, all very very off tune. His singing was slurred.

Mike was the only one in the bar not laughing their ass off. Mike was shaking his head in amazment at the man. He needed to stoop or someone needed to stop him.

Zack paid no mind to everyone laughing their ass off. Just continued singing .

Mike cursed and stood up, inching his way over to the stage. He needed to save this idiot.

Zack eyed the man approaching the stage.
"Hey, I ain't finished yet..." He slurred.

Mike rolled his eyes and took his hand, tugging him off the stage. He took the mic from him.
"Sorry everyone, shows over." He announced as he pulled Zack to the back into the bathroom.

"The hell man, I was singin..." Zack trailed off, eyes rolling back in his head as he slumped back against the sink.

Mike cupped a handfull of water and splashed Zack's face.
"No, you were being a fucking retard up there. Fucking downing drinks like you were, what in the fuck is wring with you?"

Zack glared and pushed Mike away from him, the water waking him up a bit.
"Did you just find your boyfriend of two fucking years fucking some fucking cunt?! I don't think so so don't fucking tell me what to do!" He screamed, trying to storm out of the bathroom.

Mike grabbed his arm and threw him back.
"No but I had my lover of four years cheat on me and when I asked why he told be because I wasnt worth his time anymore, just a good fuck toy. And you know what...this is not the answer dumbass."

"What is the answer then?!" Zack shouted, tears pricking his eyes.

Mike sighed and shook his head.
"You stop, and you think about this. Do you really want him back if he is enough of a low life to creep?"

"I don't want him back!" He paused and sighed. "But it fucking hurts..." He trailed off and sunk to the ground, head in his hands.

Mike sighed and sat down with him.
"I know it hurts like hell but you are not hurting him, you are hurting yourself."

"Well this hurts less than staying sober and thinking about it." Zack hicupped.

"No, your cute, you can have a new man in no time. You gotta be sober and tell yourself you better than he deserves and your going to get a better man who will do you good."

"I can't get shit." Zack grumbled. "No one fuckin wants me."

"Why did you think I was paying you any attention? Because I was going to go buy you a drink and get to know you but you were downing shots so fast it was apparent you werent here for that."

"The fuck do you want me? You're sexy..." Zack murmured.
