Can't Do It Alone

Evan sat on the edge of Dessi's bed, stroking her hair. She'd been getting sick a lot lately, and everytime she did it stuck around for longer and longer. He sighed as he watched her twisting in pain. He was getting really scared now....

Randy strolled in, placing a kiss on both of their heads.
"How's my Dessi doing?"

Dessi weakly looked up at him with fever glazed eyes. "We need to get her to a doctor Rand......" Evan sighed. "I've seen this before...."

Randy frowned.
"You're right." He gently lifted Dessi and carried her out to the car.

"Mmmmmmm," Dessi moaned "Cold Randy......."

"My poor baby." Randy frowned.
"Evan can you drive? I want to hold her."

Evan nodded, getting into the driver's seat. "Make it go away....." Dessi whined.

Randy sat in the passenger seat, holding Dessi in his arms. He shook her soothingly, stroking her hair, lips resting on her forehead.
"It'll be okay Dessi." He cooed.

Dessi groaned as Evan started the drive. "Tummy hurts....." Dessi whined.

"It's okay baby, the doctors gonna make it all better."

"That's what you said last time....." Dessi said, her words started to slur.

Randy frowned and just held her tight until they reached the hospital.

"Do I have to go in there?" Dessi asked.

Randy nodded as Evan pulled into the parking lot.

"But......I don't want doctors no more......" Dessi pouted.

"Honey, they're gonna help you."

Dessi squirmed, "No, put me down, I won't go in there again, I won't I won't I won't!"

"You have to Dessi. I'm sorry." Randy said, only holding her closer.

Dessi looked at him. "If you love me you won't make me," she sniffled.

"Baby, don't be like that. If I didn't love you, I'd let you stay home and be sick."

"But I don't wanna go in there......" Dessi whined.

"You got to honey." Randy said, carrying her into the hospital.

Evan followed, stroking Dessi's hair.

They checked her in, got her a room and waited for the doctor to arrive.

Dessi pouted up at Randy.
