Just A Number..

"I know...."
He was really his uncle and that was it. He had to wonder if Zac even knew that. He wanted to be momma but if he was more like a brother....Atleast he was something.

"Momma.." Zac frowned with a sigh as he pecked his mother's cheek. "I love you no matter how old you are. You are my momma and nothing is going to change that."

"You know im actually your uncle and im just happy you love me as anything." He sighed.

"No. You are not my uncle. If you were my uncle that means you would be my mother's brother. But you are my mother so that makes no sense." Zac said firmly. He refused to call Sydney mother even if she was really.

"Your an idiot.....But I love you......"
Kevin hoped one day he would really be momma, he wouldnt worry about Sydney...

"I love you too momma." Zac smiled softly as he laid down in his bed. He might be able to get in an hour or two of sleep as always. He'd been staying up practically 24/7 lately.

And Kevin know that, didnt like it.
"Zac, I want you to sleep for atleast six hours. Ill cover for you with daddy and Quincy im sure wont mind. He even mentioned it to me how he didn't like the dark bags under your eyes."

"Momma..." Zac sighed. He hated sleeping. Hated dreaming. "Why can't I just stay up?" He frowned.

"Because baby, sleep deprivation is bad for you. Now go to bed and sleep, for me?" Kevin laid down with him.

Zac sighed as he wandered into the bathroom. He opened the cabinet and reached to the very back for his pills. He shouldn't take so many but they were supposed to stop him from dreaming. He had nightmares he couldn't stand so he ended up taking four a day. He swallowed them dry and laid back down with his mother.

Kevin frowned.
"What do you dream about anyways sweetheart? Why do you need those?"

Zac simply shook his head.
"Nothing momma. I just worry too much." He pecked his cheek. He dreamed of many things. And none of them were pleasant.

"C'mon, talk to your momma sweetheart." Kevin urged gently as he cuddled his baby.

Zac sighed.
"Well most of all its Quincy cheating at the club... then theres just some shit that happened before you guys found me. And then Gabriel... just little stuff." He shrugged. But it wasn't little to him...

Kevin frowned.
"Wanna tell me about them baby? Maybe it will help you out a little bit."

"I just... momma I don't like talking about it really. But I will. Just to you... but when I wake up." He pecked his cheek

Kevin nodded, wrapping himself around Zac and waiting for him to sleep.

Zac murmured one more i love you before falling asleep, tightly clutching onto his mother.

Kevin sang to him softly, hoping to maybe chase the dreams away. He used to do this to Biddy...

Zac smiled softly in his sleep. He already didn't have many dreams because of the pills but the singing helped too...

Kevin chewed his lip.
"Come stop your crying it will be alright....Just take my hand, hold it tight." He hummed softly.

Zac trembled a bit as he had his worst nightmare yet.
Kevin was screaming in his face. Telling him he was worthless piece of shit.... Kevin leaving. The one thing he loved most was doing what he had always feared.... He held on tighter to his mother.

Kevin kissed his cheek, unaware of the night mare as he stroked Zac's hair.
"I will protect you from....All around you. I will be here, dont you cry." He took a deep breath. "For one so small, you seem so strong. My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm."

Zac was startled awake as he was struck in the face in his dream. He covered his eyes until he was able to hide the hurt and fear in them before removing the hands and scooting away from his mother.

Kevin frowned, reached out and gently caressing Zac's cheek.
"Sweetheart....Baby are you okay?"
