Undesired

David ate slowly as he smiled to himself. This seemed to be going well....

"This is delicious...." He grinned at his boyfriend with he rubbed his arms happily.

"I'm glad you like it... family recipe." He smiled softly.

Dewayne shivered but grinned and nodded.
"Talented family."

"First one not in the family to eat it. Special." He chuckled.

"I know im brilliant like that..."
Had his last lover tasted it?

No, he hadn't... Dewayne was the first lover David had cooked for. Especially a family recipe.
"Yes yes you are. Absolutely brilliant..."

Dewayne finished his food and just watched David with a wide grin.
"Mine?"

"Yours?" David smirked with a chuckle as he took their empty plates to the sink.

Dewayne nodded and grinned.
"I just love hearing that."

David laughed lightly, kissing him softly.
"Yours.." He whispered. "C'mere." He led him to the fireplace. On top of the mantle, a picture sat. It was him and his old lover.
"His name was Danny. This was our first date. My favorite picture of us... my favorite picture in general." They were at an amusement park. It was a cheesy pic of them kissing at the top of the ferris wheel. He took it out of its frame, sighing before he clenched his eyes shut and did what he needed to. He tore it in half. He continued ripping until it was in shreds. He dumped it in the trash can.

"Oh! David baby that was not needed!" He shook his head and bent down, trying to pick out the pieces.

"Stop." David sighed, taking Dewayne's hand and kissing it. "It was needed. I know its only been four months Dewayne... but I love you. More than I ever loved him...." He rubbed at his eyes for a moment, waiting for the tears which didn't come. He smiled and walked off, returning with something in his hand. It was a picture he had of him and Dewayne. They were simply lying on the couch downstairs, watching a movie. Dewayne was lying his head on David's chest, David's arm around his shoulder. He put the picture in the now empty frame.

Dewayne stared, shaking his head as he pulled his boyfriend to him.
"D-David baby th-thats not...You loved him...These are all you have left of him...You said it yourself..."

"I did say that." He nodded. "I'm not being fair to you though. I need to move on. Live in the present. He was my first love and I was still hung up on him I guess. But I'm working on it. I'm not gonna get over it if I see him everywhere I turn.... Sorry if I'm scaring you off with all this but I love you and I committ when I love someone..."

Dewayne hugged him tightly.
"Your really my first love...I had one other but it didnt last..."
Two years.

"You never kissed him? Or her?" Dewayne had said David was his first kiss.

Dewayne shook his head.
"He was my first time but...I was saving my lips for who I would marry...my soul mate..."

David smiled softly at him, head tilted to the side.
"You're weird Dewayne.... and I love it." He shook his head

"I know I am...."
Maybe thats why he had been left...

"But I love it so much. I love everything about you..." David got down on one knee and pulled a box from his pocket. "Now don't go and shit your pants. I'm not proposing." He smirked and opened the box revealing a band. "This is a promise ring Dewayne. As in, I promise to love you as long as you'll let me. I promise to be faithful for as long as we last. I promise to never hurt you in any way. I promise to give you my whole heart and no one else. I promise that I'll never be unfaithful to you. I promise that you will always have a part of my heart whether you want it or not and I promise that I will always be there if you need me, together or not."

Dewayne grinned at him, dropping to his knees and throwing himself into David's arms.
"I LOVE YOU!!"

David laughed, beaming as he hugged Dewayne closer.
"I love you too sweetness..."

Dewayne pressed to his chest, looking up at the picture of them together.
it was....
perfect.

David took his hand and slid the ring on his finger.
"Be mine?"
