Words Said

Matt tossed his bag into the corner of the room as he sat down on the bed, he'd lost his match that night and even after quitting Jeff had jumped. He just wanted to sleep any pain he had off, he still had two days left of taping and then he'd be free to hide away for a few days.

Jeff could still hear every single one of Matt's screams ringing in his ears. He couldd hear every single echoing word clear as he had in the ring. The tears stung his eyes as he reached out to knock on the door to Matt's hotel room.

Matt was surprised anyone was knocking on his door at all, he slowly got up and opened it.

"I miss you," Jeff nearly whimpered out.

Matt slowly pulled his brother close, hugging him tightly.

"I'm sorry," Jeff repeated over, and over again, crying into the elder Hardy's shoulder.

"J-Jeffro?" The first words Matt could manage to get out.

"Y-Yeah?" the younger Hardy asked, not letting go.

"Your here...?" Matt asked softly, unbelieving his brother was here.

"I'm here. 'm here, Mattie..."

Matt continued to hug his brother tightly, looking down at him.

A tiny whimpered "What did I do?"

Matt paled slightly at the question, he had long admitted to himself that his brother had done nothing wrong and it had been all his jealously. But now he had to try and explain it to Jeff and he wasn't so sure he could.

"Whatever it was...I'm sorry..."

"It.... Wasn't you Jeff...."

"But...why?"

"It was me... I was angry... Frustrated and hurt and I took it out on you...."

"You promised, when we were kids..."

"I.... Know...." Matt replied quietly, his arms falling to his side.

"Why..."
