Don't Let Me Go

Jeff Hardy's world was crashing don't around him. He'd just been told he had the same cancer that killed his mother. Doctors gave the younger Hardy less than a year to live. Jeff wiped his eyes and knocked on his brother's door.

Matt heard a knock on his door and answered. it was Jeff he looked like he crying "whats wrong Jeffro?" he asked

"We n-need to talk Mattie," Jeff sniffled. He hoped using the name he called Matt as a child would make him realize how serious this was.

Matt moved so Jeff could come in "what about ?"

Jeff walked in and looked at his brother with teary eyes. "I have cancer Matt," Jeff said, a slight whimper escaping his lips. "It's the same cancer that killed momma, doctor's say I have a year, maybe less."

Matt pulled Jeff into a big hug and said "Jeffro" as he started to cry

Jeff clung to his brother and started to sob. He didn't want to die, not before he got to tell Matt the truth.

Matt hugged his little brother closer he couldn't beleive he was going to lose his brother.

"I'm scared Mattie," Jeff said softly. He wasn't scared of dying, and he wasn't scared of the treatment. He was scared of being without Matt.

i know Jeffro." said Matt feeling his heart breaking to see Jeff like this

"I...I want you to be there, when it happens," Jeff sniffled. "I want you to be the last person I see before I go."

"i promise Jeff." answered Matt starting to cry again. now he would never get to tell Jeff how he felt

Jeff looked up into his brother's brown eyes. "There's something I need to tell you," Jeff said. "Before it's too late."

"what Jeffro?" asked Matt worried his brother had more bad news

"Matt I......I think I'm in love with you," Jeff stammered. "Think I have been for a while."

Matt looked at Jeff and said"i love you too Jeffro."

"R-Really?" Jeff asked, wiping his eyes.

"yes." answered Matt then he leaned in and kissed Jeff

Jeff wrapped his arms around Matt's neck and kissed him back.

Matt wanted to never let go but soon they had to break for air. Matt looked Jeff and said "i love you so much Jeffro."

"I love you too Mattie," Jeff smiled, stroking the older man's cheek. "So, so much.

Matt smiled back at Jeff and kissed him again

Jeff got lost in Matt's arms. He'd never felt so safe in his life.

Matt pulled back and gently stroked Jeff's hair and said "i've been such a fool."

"Why do you say that darlin?" Jeff drawled softly
