Jesus Take the Wheel

Evan didn't care that it was snowing like crazy outside, he wanted to see Alex. He needed to see him. He packed a small suitcase with enough to last him a night or two, bundled up and headed to the car. The drive tarted out fine, sure the roads were slick, but it wasn't anything Evan hadn't seen before. What he hadn't seen however was the patch of black ice ahead of him. The moment he hit it he lost total control off the car, sliding down the embankment off the side of the road.

When Evan was brought to the hospital it was apparent that the young man was in critical condition. Not only was he battered and bruised beyond belief, but he had severe internal injuries as well. While he was rushed to surgery a nurse looked through his file in an attempt to contact his loved ones.

Alex was the first one they called.
His heart stopped beating when he heard about his lover. He immediately demanded for the address and was on his way before he hung up the phone.

Evan was in surgery for hours. Many of his doctors thought it would be a miracle if he even lived through it.

By the time Alex got there Evan was almost done with surgery. He sat in the waiting room anxiously awaiting the moment when he could finally see his lover.

A doctor came out a few minutes later. "Anyone for Matthew Korklan?" the doctor asked.

Alex stood and nodded vigorously. He felt as if he was going to be sick.

The doctor sighed. "I'm not going to lie to you, Mr. Korklan's condition is very serious," he said. "He suffered some massive internal bleeding and also punctured a lung as well. "

Alex trembled at the words. He knew this wasn't stuff you could easily recover from.

"Would you like to see him?" the doctor asked, placing Evan's file under his arm.

Alex nodded although he wasn't sure f he wanted to see him in his current state.

The doctor nodded and led Alex to the room where Evan was.

Alex closed his eyes shut tightly, scared at what he might see when he opened them.

The doctor opened the door. "He'll wake up when he's ready," the doctor said.

Alex opened his eyes finally. And just like he predicted, the sight was not pleasant.
