If You Don't Know Me By Now

Jeff stared at his older lover, his brother, his protector in disbelief. Matt was accusing him of cheating. Did he really think that lowly of him? "Do you really think I would hurt you like that Mattie?" Jeff asked through teary eyes.

"well then can you explain it to me?" asked Matt still argry

"Nothin' is goin' on between me and Allen and I baby," Jeff said. "Never was and never will be."

"then why were you in his room?" asked Matt

"We were going over plans for next weeks taping Matt, nothing more," responded Jeff.

"for four hours?" asked Matt thinking about what Adam had said during a show a while back

"Allen had some issues he needed to work out," Jeff defended. "I thought out of everyone, you would know you could trust me."

Matt looked away he didn't know what had changed he had always trusted Jeff

Jeff grabbed his coat. "If you don't know me better than that by now, I guess you never will," Jeff said.

Matt felt his eyes water "Jeff wait" he yelled as Jeff got in his car

Jeff shook his head and slammed the door.

Matt started crying as Jeff drove away he had screwed it up again

Jeff's tears blurred his vision. He didn't see the other car coming until it was too late

Matt had been sitting in the livingroom crying when the phone rang "hello" he said when he answered it

"Hello, I need to speak with someone regarding a Jeffery Hardy," a nurse said.

"about what?" asked Matt worriedly

"Mr Hardy was in a motor vehicle collision," replied the nurse. "He is in critical condition."

Matt felt his heart stop "which hospital?" he asked as he got in his car

"Cameron Central Medical Center," replied the nurse.

"i'm be right there" said Matt as got in his car, soon he arrived at the hospital he walked up to the nurse's desk "can i see Jeffery Hardy?"

"He's not out of surgery yet sir, you'll have to wait," said the nurse.

Matt nodded sadly and sat down in the waiting room

Four hours later, a doctor emerged. "Family of Jeffery Hardy?" she asked. It was Kiara.

Matt stood up "how is he?" he asked worriedly

Kiara sighed and shook her head. "It'll be a miracle if he or the babies make it through the night," she said.
