Tonight I Want to Cry

Cody Rhodes was lost, confused, alone and lonely. To make matters worse, he was running a 102.4 degree fever. Randy'd thrown him out earlier that day after they'd gotten into a fight over something stupid, Cody couldn't remember what anymore, but he knew it was stupid, it always was. He sighed and sat down in a chair in the hotel lobby, quite content to just pass out there from the fever.

Drew stretched and walked out of his hotel room searching for a vending machine. He was starving. He jogged down the stairs instead of taking the elevator, hoping that this would make up for the most likely fattening snack he would get. When he arrived in the lobby, he noticed a figure slumped over in a chair off to the side as he got closer, he recognized the person. His tag team partner, Cody Rhodes. What was he doing here?

Cody shifted in pain as what started as a dull ache in the pit of his stomach turned into an almost unbearable pain. His fever had most likely gone up again. Against his better judgement he allowed himself to start drifting off to sleep.

Drew walked closer, right in front of the chair.
"Cody?" Drew called softly, noticing that Cody's eyes were shut. "Are you sleeping?"

"Trying to," Cody said, coughing weakly. Bleary fever glazed blue eyes looked up at Drew. "What are ya doin' here?" Cody asked confused. "Aren't you supposed to be somewhere?" Cody's lisp was unusually thick.

"Got hungry." Drew shrugged with a grin. He knew something was wrong when Cody didn't do that cute little smile of his.
"You alright? Ya don't look too good?"

Cody weakly shook his head. "Feel like hell," he admitted. "and Randy threw me out so I'm kinda stuck," Cody lisped. "I've been a hell of a lot better....."

Drew wanted to smirk at the cute lisp, but he couldn't when Cody looked so... just plain sickly.
"What was it about this time?" Drew sighed, plopping down in a chair beside him. Cody and Randy were always getting into fights about stupid things.

"I don't even remember, it was so stupid man......" Cody lisped. "To tired to care right now."

Drew nodded and let Cody sit in silence for a moment before speaking.
"That chair can't be comfortable. You're welcome to crash in my room for the night." Drew said tentatively, not sure if that was going too far, crossing some sort of line.

Cody looked up hopefully. "You mean that?" Cody asked. "I mean you don't really have to........."

"I'm not doing it 'cause i have to. I'm doing it 'cause i want to. I wouldn't be a very good friend if i let you sleep in a hard chair all night, when i have plenty of room for you." Drew smiled, and helped Cody out of the chair.

Cody stumbled weakly to his feet. "i guess you've got a point..." Cody lisped sleepily.

Drew let out a slight chuckle at Cody's lisp. He swung an arm around Cody's waist, not wanting him to fall.

"I'm done with Randy's bullshit," Cody muttered. "I ain't goin' back, not this time."

"Cody,you've said that the past five times it's happened. I think deep down we both know you don't really mean it." Drew said, pressing his floor button on the elevator as they stepped inside.

"Naw man, really this time I'm done," Cody muttered. "Him and his million dollar boy toy can go to hell."

"Ok." Drew said, not wanting to argue. But no matter how much he wanted Cody to stay away from Randy, he didn't truly believe it would happen.

Cody rolled his eyes. "I don't see what he sees in that blonde pretty boy bastard anyways," Cody said. "What's he got that I don't?"

Drew was slightly amused that Cody would call another man a pretty boy, when just yesterday he had spent over an hour tweezing his eyebrows. But then he looked over and noticed that Cody was honestly upset.
"Ted, has nothing on you Cody. Absolutely noting." Drew said, looking into Cody's eyes.

Cody looked at Drew, a shocked look in his eyes. "You.....you mean that?" Cody asked.

Drew just nodded and resumed staring blankly at the silver door of the elevator.

Cody stared at it as well, waiting for it to open.

Finally, they arrived on Drew's floor. Drew walked at a brisk pace down the hall to his room. He unlocked the door with his keycard and let Cody inside.

Cody yawned, walking into the room. "Thanks again," Cody said. "For doing this."
