In Sickness and in Health

Shawn sighed as he walked back into the house, plastic bag from the pharmacy in his hand. Adam hadn't been feeling well for three or four days by that point and Shawn had run out of medicine to give him, not to mention he had to buy a new thermometer since Adam busted the last one when he threw it against the wall. Shawn loved the younger blonde dearly, but he could be such a child when he wasn't feeling well. He waited until he was on the second floor before softly calling, "Darlin' I'm home."

Adam just groaned and curled up under the blankets.

Shawn walked into the bedroom and smiled warmly at his younger lover. "How ya feelin' darlin?" Shawn asked, sitting the bag down at the foot of the bed.

"Horrible." Adam grummbled as he coughed.

Shawn nodded and took off his boots before sitting down on the edge of the bed next to Adam, gently placing his hand on Adam's forehead. He sighed at the heat he found there. "Your fever's gone up again darlin."

Adam just sighed and turned on his side.

"Addy....." Shawn said softly. "Don't be like that." He gently picked up the ill young man and placed him carefully in his lap.

Adam sighed before he coughed again "I'm still not going Shawn."

"Shhhhhhh," Shawn said softly. "I didn't say nothin' about takin' you nowhere."

Adam sighed "Yeah but you want me to go to the doctors am i right?

"If this doesn't get better by the end of the week, yes," Shawn said.

Adam sighed and mummbled "I don't want to go."

Shawn sighed and grabbed the bag from the pharmacy. "That's why I'm tryin' to take care of you here baby," Shawn said. He pulled the new thermometer out of the bag and got it out of it's package. "Now c'mon, let's see how much higher that fever of yours is," he said, adding "and no throwing this one against the wall.

Adam sighed "It was broken anyway." he mummbled "There's no way my fever was that high."

Shawn rolled his eyes. "Don't blame it on the thermometer Adam Joesph, you're the one that wouldn't take your medicine last night."

Adam just grummbled softly about stupid thermometers as Shawn finished opening the new one.

Shawn chuckled softly. "You stubborn Canadians," Shawn shook his head. "Bret was just as bad."

Adam just stuck his tongue out at Shawn.

"You know I love you darlin," drawled Shawn gently. "Now open up."

Adam sighed but opened his mouth for Shawn.

Shawn smiled and placed the thermometer in Adam's mouth.

Adam sighed as he waited for the thermometer to beep.

Shawn sighed at the 102.9 reading when the thermometer beeped.

"What is it?" Adam asked as he coughed.

"102.9." said Shawn worriedly.
