I Came to Play

Jeff smiled carrying Mike up toward the guest bedroom.

Mike hissed as his arm throbbed harder.

"Shhh Shhhh," Jeff whispered. "It's alright baby."

Mike smiled at Jeff, strangly feeling cocmforted; no wonder Hailey calmed down for him.

Jeff smiled brightly when Hailey walked into the room. "Hey doc," Jeff smiled. He turned to Mike. "Mikey, why don't you tell Dr. Hailey here what's wrong hm?"

"Well, doctor Hailey..M-my tummy hurts(sniffle) A-and my throat h-hurts. More tears leaked out of Mike's eyes form the shear hurt of his arm.

Hailey nodded. "Otay, I can hep you," Hailey smiled. Jeff listened as Hailey instructed him to lie Mike down on the bed. He did so and sat down next to Mike, taking his hand. "Daddy's right here baby," Jeff said.

Mike nodded, still in pain ut it was better with Jeff insuring his comfort.

Hailey looked at Mike. "I'm gonna touch your belly a little otay?" Hailey said. "You tell me if it hurts."

"Y-yes Ma'me." Mike whimpered.

Jeff held Mike's hand in his, using his free hand the gently brush over Mike's hair as Hailey started her work.

Mike groand as Hailey pressed a certain spot on his stomach. "It h-hurts there." Mike whined.

"Otay, no more of that then," Hailey said. She turned around to the small supply table they'd created her. "Can you sit up for me?" she asked, looking over here supplies for what she needed next.

Mike nodded and sat up, biting his lip so hard he could taste blood.

"Easy Mikey," Jeff whispered. "She's almost done, just squeeze my hand when it hurts baby, don't hurt yourself."

Mike squeezed Jeff hand, hard. Mike waited for Hailey, wanting nothing more than for Jeff to scop him up in his arms and take care of him. Andhe wanted Danile Bryan to pay for the pain he is causing Mie.

Hailey grabbed one of the wooden craft stick tongue depressor from her table and turned back to Mike. "Open wide," Hailey said.

Mike didn't want to, he knew his lip was bleeding and he didn't want to scare Hailey.

"C'mon now," Hailey said. She was getting an accent much like Jeff's as she got older. "Open up."

Mike tried his best to get the blood from his mouth. Mike opened his mouth slightly, not much at all.

"You gots to do better than that," Hailey said, her free hand moving to her hip.

Oh, God, Mike thought to himself, opeing his mouth and saying "aHHHHHH"

Hailey smiled, looking inside for a moment. Did she notice the blood? Yes, but she figured daddy just got hurt at work again, no big deal. "There," Hailey smiled, throwing the stick away. "Was that so bad?"

Mike sighed in relief,"No, not at all." Mike struggled to keep his voice from cracking.

"One more thing," Hailey said. She turned her back to Mike again. Jeff knew what was coming, but he didn't know if Mike could give Hailey the tantrum she wanted.
