When Crickets Cry...

Riley paused.
"Should I go down now or what?" He wasnt sure.

"Hmm.... gimme a minute. I'll call you down when I'm ready." He nodded.

Riley nodded and sat back on the bed, sighing softly as his head throbbed.

Lance chewed his lip as he walked over to his father, waiting for Zac and Quincy to get here..

Quincy walked through the door, followed by Zac and the other children, including Brayden, minus Angel. He and Dustin shared a quick hug before sitting down and looking at Lance expectantly.

"Alright so... I asked you guys here cause... well, cause I'm in love. Momma, daddy, I've been dating someone for the past year. Today is our anniversary and well...we need you guys's approval." He sighed as he called for Riley to come down.

Dustin and Quincy shared a worried look, both becoming horrified as Riley bounded down the stairs.

Lance smiled, walking over and planting a bold kiss on Riley's lips.
"Lance is the twinkie, daddy." Vikki laughed lightly.
Zac blinked as he realized this is who his baby had been sneaking out to see...
Chris looked shocked. He and Lance had had a talk about who he was fucking late one night. The screams had woken him. He'd heard the name Riley but he never would have guessed this one..

Quincy and Dustin were beside themselves.
In unison they stood.
"HELL NO!!"

Lance sighed, looking down.
"Why not?" He asked, determined. Zac and Chris both tried to get their lovers to calm down.

Quincy took Riley but the back of his neck and pulled him away, yelling at him while Dustin pulled Lance into his arms and glared.

Zac scolded Quincy gently and told him to be gentler with their child.
"Daddy, I love him." Lance sighed as he looked up at his father pleadingly. Chris frowned, but hugged his son.

Dustin shook his head, looking at Chris.
"Hell no, this cannot happen." His accent was much more pronounced when he was angry and upset.
Quincy was livid, all he could do was yell and scold the boy.

"You can't just split us up! Its been an entire year! I could be fucking pregnant with his kid for all you know!" Lance snapped off. He was usually a shy, well mannered boy but he was pissed.

Dustin put his hands over his face.
"Please God no!!"
Quincy turned to him, his teeth grit.
"Well if you are he sure aint gonna have a daddy!! You no longer have a sick relative as a boyfriend!!"
Dustin stepped in front of his child.
"Don't you speak to my baby like that!!"

"IF Lance is pregnant, the child will have a fucking father. And you'll be a grandaddy. Congratu-fucking-lations." Chris snarled. "Stop being an ass. I'm not fond of this shit but you two are being ridiculous."
Zac frowned deeply at Quincy.
"KNock it off." He scolded.

They just continued to fight, not noticing Riley inch over to Lance and hug him.
"Are you okay?"

"No! Fuck no!" Lance shook his head furiously, hugging him close.

"Shh, baby I am going to make it okay....I promise....Ill do whatever it takes. Even If I have to run away with you." He caressed Lance's cheek, holding him close as their fathers fought.

"Riley..." Lance clenched his eyes shut tight. "I AM pregnant..." He pulled the test out of his pocket, biting his lower lip

Riley took it, his face went from crushed, to scared, to blank, to scared again and then a smile took over. He slipped it in his pocket and hugged Lance tight, spinning him around.
"Sweetheart thats great, thats all wonderful! Its all going to be okay sweetheart, ill make sure of it."

LAnce was terrified though.
"A-are you sure...?" He whispered, hugging him tightly.

"Im sure, Im so sure....Look, right now." He pulled off a ring, it was his highschool ring. He dropped to one knee and took Lance's hand.
"This is how sure I am. I know this is not a wedding ring, but it will do for now." He gulped. "Will you marry me Lance? Have my baby....Marry me?"

LAnce gasped, covering his mouth as he nodded furiously.
"O-of course..."

Riley beamed at him, slipping the ring onto his finger and standing up, kissing Lance deeply. Dustin and Quincy had stopped, both starting in total disbelief.
