Whatever It Takes

"John?" Mike had a question. "How many people have you been with since me?"

"One," John admitted.

That stung, Mike hadn't been with anyone. "Who?"

John shook his head. "No one important...."

"Lier.....you just don't want to say." Mike hid his face in the pillows, he loved John; that he could not deny. But he didn't like the idea of John's hands on someone else, John's love with someone else.

John ran a hand over his hair. He couldn't tell Mike he'd been with Phil. He might lose him if he told him about that. He'd lost him once, he couldn't do it again......

"Why....aren't you still with them. How come you needed to come back to me?" Mike took a shaky breath. "Im sure there are better people than me who you could be with right now."

John shook his head. "He left me, about a month ago," John admitted. Phil had packed up his things in the middle of the night and left John alone. He didn't even know who Phil was with now.

That stung, Mike didn't like that someone had hurt John but it hurt worse to know that he was just the doormat. John only wanted Mike because he had no one better at the moment, Mike was John's Mr.Right now. John would leave him for some one better.

"It took me a month to muster up the courage to come talk to you," John muttered lowly. He'd wanted to go running to Mike the morning Phil left him, but that didn't seem right to him. He couldn't just run away from his problems.

"What? Where you waiting for him to come back?" Mike snapped, he didn't mean to but it just kinda came out. Mike shut his mouth quickly, apology already forming on his lips.

John shook his head. "I was waiting for the right time to come talk to you," John said. "I've wanted to come to you since the day it happened," John admitted. "but I didn't want you thinking you were second string or something."

"But isn't that what I am." Mike turned to look at John. "This guy left you so now, im important." Mike sighed, he didn't like being second.

"Mikey, it's not like that," John sighed. He took a deep breath before he spoke again. "He left me because I said your name when we made love," John admitted.

"Oh, Johnny." Mike whispered, Mike leaned up and softly kissed him. "You messed up an obviously happy relationship and we haven't been....us in so long."

John smiled, kissing Mike in return. "I wasn't happy with him, truthfully," John admitted. He chuckled a bit. "He kinda bored me," "You though, this, here with you, is where I'm happy."

"Then why did we fall apart?" Mike questioned sadly. the pain of being without John coming through in his voice.

"Cause I was an idiot," John said simply. "I didn't really how good of a thing we had going until it was gone."

"So.....where going....to be us again?" Mike asked hopefully. Mike snuggled close to John.

"I'd like to be," John smiled. "If that's what you want."

"I have wanted it for so long." Mike locked gazes with John. "I have missed you so much its un-real." Mike continued. "I couldn't let any one else in.

John smiled. "I guess that's it then," John smiled. "You and I are gonna give thi another try," he smirked before he spoke again. "I don't plan on giving you up so easily this time either."

"Please dont." Mike sighed. "I can't handle it again, John" Mike shook his head. "Losing you was one of the worst things to ever happen to me."

"Shhhh," John whispered. He ran his hand through Mike's short hair. "I'm not going anywhere this time baby," he said. "Not without a fight."

"Imm glad to have you back John. I really am." Mike enjoyed the feeling of John's strong hands in his hair.
