"Mike!" Alex exclaimed when he noticed him.
Zac groaned.
"Can you please hold off on the gushing until the eight children are out of me? Thanks." He grumbled.

Mike worked Quick, he already had five of the children out. He got the sixth one out and handed it to Rick before offering Alex the scissors.
"Wanna cut the umbilical cord Alex?" He asked quietly, timidly.

Mike got them all out and they were all screaming like healthy children.
Except number eight.
Mike got him out and handed Zac the scissor for him to cut it.
He was already worried.
Why wasn't the baby wailing like the rest of them...

Zac noticed this. He hoped and prayed that nothing had gone wrong... but he calmly cut the umbilical cord.

Mike instructed David to sew Zac up while he took the baby to see if he could get it to cry.
It was smaller than the rest....
Mike popped his ass, sucked everything from his nose and throat but nothing...

"Ya did good kid." He nodded as he began to sew him up.

Mike lowered his head, pressing his ear to the tiny babies chest. He didnt want to believe it....
No heart beat
No nothing..
The baby never did take its first breath....

Mike wrapped the baby up in its small blue blanket. He waited until Zac had been sewed up before stepping over to him and laying the still, silent bundle in his arms.
"Zac....This is number eight. He...is the runt and the only one that didnt make it baby...im so sorry."

"I..." Zac couldn't speak... nine months of pain.... just to make sure none of his babies felt unwanted, none of them died.... and still. Still... The tears poured down his cheeks.

Mike sat down and pulled Zac into a hug.
"I know Zac, I have lost them before too...But we can get this one back....It will take me time but I will find him and bring him home to you."
