What Next?

Zack rolled over to face his boyfriend.
"Can't sleep?" He murmured.

"Me either baby." Mike sighed and kissed Zack's cheek. "Do you want me to move?" He wanted to stay but he would move if Zack asked.

"Yes. You don't like this. So, go be comfortable." He kissed Mike's cheek.

Mike didn't know why but that hurt. It just stung him, it started at his chest and then it stung his eyes as he quietly got up and switched beds.

Zack was no more comfortable like this and he still could not sleep but he hoped Mike was happy now.

Mike felt worse, his stomach was in knots. Zack didn't want to sleep with him after he worked so fucking hard. It hurt...

Of course Zack wanted to sleep with Mike. But he didn't want to force Mike to do it.

Mike sat up in bed and hugged himself. He was cold and he couldn't sleep, his chest ached...his heart ached.

Zack still couldn't sleep. He pulled the blanket up over his head, covering his whole body.

Mike put his knees to his chest and stared down at the dying, tattered roses on the floor.

Zack was toying with his locket. He decided then that he would never take this off again. It would permanently stay on. He opened the locket and found a place for a tiny picture. He stood and quietly found a picture of Mike which he stuck in the locket.

Mike couldn't take this anymore.
"Zack.....What dont you wanna sleep with me? Did I...do something?"

"Of course you didn't Mike. I want you to sleep with me. That's all I've wanted since the day in the elevator. But I could tell you weren't comfortable and I didn't like that.

"Zack...I want to so bad. I have been working on it. If I could just get used to it...I dunno...You know I have problems baby and im trying to fix them for you. I want to sleep with you...."

"I know. The point is you're trying. But I don't want to make you so uncomfortable. If we do this every night for a while, sleep together for at least a few hours, you'll slowly get more comfortable. And that's what I want."

Mike sighed and just laid down. He was still...upset? That was the word, he just didnt like it.

Zack frowned.
"Mike don't be upset..." He stared at his boyfriend.

"Im fine....."
He didn't need comfort, he didn't. He was fine. He would just shove it to the back of his mind and pretend it didn't hurt.

Zack sighed. He hated this. There was no way out. Mike was either upset or unhappy.

Mike was happy, he was happy with Zack, maybe a little uncomfortable but he was happy with him, happy to hold him.

"Love you." Zack said softly, not knowing if Mike even heard.

"I love you too Zack." Mike sighed and picked up his phone so he could look at his screen saver, he found himself doing that alot lately.

Zack got up and walked over to Mike's bed. He crawled on Mike's lap and hugged him tightly.

Mike smiled and wrapped his arms around his lover.
"Did you know what I was going to say before I said it?"

"Mhm." Zack nodded. "I seem to do that a lot lately."
