When Crickets Cry...

Kevin butted heads with Zac, slapping him hard across the face, his own face red and his eyes shining with hurt.
Quincy used to tell him that when he was molesting him.
He was momma to Zac....
How could he say that?
Kevin ran from the room.

Zac huffed, sitting down on the couch.
He didn't need anyone...

Riley frowned at his mother.
"Momma....."

"What is it baby?" He asked, voice softening.

"Your not being very nice....All he did was care..."
In truth Riley figured if he stuck around Zac would snap at him too.

Zac sighed softly.
"I guess I'm weird." He shrugged. "I don't want people to care... I'd just rather keep stuff inside. I don't want to let it out."

"Well then you will lose your family momma. You have kids, I got a pregnant fiance. You cant care for my brothers and sisters."

"Why does this matter though Riley?" He sighed. "Why can't I just care for you guys anyway?"

"Because thats not being a momma....Your not being a momma....Your being some stranger living in the house and trying to make sure we are fed."

Zac sighed softly.
"Baby... would you rather have me here and not be able to do anything because I'm crying so hard?"

"At least you would me our momma." He shook his head sadly. "Daddy....And you....both need to just move on if you are seriously done."

"And maybe I will in a bit... that'll be easier if I'm not crying. Y'know most people aren't attracted to people with bloodshot, puffy eyes." He smiled softly.

"Just don't be an emotionless stranger to your kids and Grandpa Rick and Grandma Kevin."

"I'll try sweety..." He sighed softly.

Riley sighed, getting up and going off to Dustin's, leaving Zac alone.

Zac sighed, hugging his knees to his chest and taking a nap on the couch. As he said before, he refused to cry.

Quincy was no better off, but he was not holding it in. He was crying when he needed to.

Zac put on his jacket and went out to a bar where he would come and sing sometimes. He bought a drink and listened to the boy currently peforming.

Jennifer Vanessa McDaniel's awoke in a field. She was dead, she knew that for certain. She had over dosed on drugs. The first thing she did was stand and start looking for her husband, for Quincy McDaniel's.

After his fourth drink, Zac was a good bit tipsy. He was a lightweight after all. He had now moved to the small mosh pit in front of the stage.
The man on stage grinned as he looked for someone sexy enough to dance with him. And wouldn't you know? He grabbed Zac's arm and tugged him up.
Zac blinked for a moment before shrugging and dancing along with him.

Jennifer found Quinton's place, standing around until Quincy stepped out of the house. She tackled him in a hug, kissing him deeply.
"QUINCY!!!"
The man blinked, shaking his head.
"Jennifer??"
"I MISSED YOU!!"
She kissed him again; he didnt stop her.

If only Zac would've known.... no, he was just dancing his pain away on the stage. The guy tried to kiss him but he would turn his head, refusing to let their lips meet. Quincy was his only kiss... and he would keep it that way, no matter what...
By the end of the ngiht, Zac was so drunk, he'd fallen asleep right on a bar stool. The singer from earlier laughed at him, managing to get an address out of him before carrying him home.

Quincy had let her inside and they talked, he told her of Zac, and the kids.
She got mental.
She hit on him a bit, of coarse it didn't bother him until she picked up a knife.
He couldn't hurt her....not that bad...
He left her try to cut him while he backed into a wall.
After an hour he slid down that wall, pool of blood forming beneath him with Jennifer smiling and singing to her self.
"Im sorry baby, you had to be punished, your MINE."

Vikki, and Hayden where with their father at the moment. They'd been watching through the bedroom window.
"Who the hell is she and why is she kissing daddy?" Vikki exclaimed when she first came in.
"Ain't that... Jennifer or whatever?"
"His old wife?"
"Yeah..."
Vikki's eyes narrowed. She and Hayden snuck downstairs, peeking through the crack in the door. Hayden had to slap a hand over Vikki's mouth to stop her scream.
But seconds later, she burst through the door, Haydne cursing behind her. She pushed Jennifer in the chest, grabbing the knife.
"Who the FUCK do you think you arE?!" She screamed. "You think you can fucking stab my daddy? Go head and do it again! Try me!" She held the largest knife they had in the kitchen, menacingly, her teeth bared, eyes glaring into Jennifer.
Hayden was knelt by his father's side.
"Daddy.... daddy.. oh fuck.."

Quincy's coughed, blood dribbling from him chin.
"G-Get her....H-Hayden get your sister." He gasped while Jennifer put a hand on her hips, the other smacking the knife from Viki's hands.
"Im Jennifer, he wife. You bastard child."
"JENNIFER!" Quincy barked, coughing more of the ruby liquid.
"You do NOT fucking speak ill of my children!"
Her nostrils flared but she said no more.
