Better Sorry Than Safe

"Chord is just.....looking out for me...." Aristotle defended lightly, his eye brows knitting together. "He doesn't want me....hurt....like he and Joslin think you will hurt me....by leading me on...then leaving...I swore no more....re-lat-ion-ships." He sounded out to himself, to him it was a rather large word.

Asher had a quick argument with himself.
"Just stop damnit. You're making a fool out of yourself."
"But I love him."
"You're embarassing yourself!"
"But I need him... I think he might be the one for me."
"Oh don't be stupid."
"I'm not stupid!"
"You're stupid for thinking someone as sweet as him could love you!"
"No I'm not..."

"I won't hurt you Ary..." He said aloud with a sigh.

Aristotle licked his lips, his eyes on Asher.
"Asher....Can you tutor me next week?" He was so easily distracted it was laughable...
"I....I dont know if we can ever.....be anything.....but I do love you....and I want to stay friends...if nothing else....I want to try...to be more...but im not sure..."

Asher chuckled lightly through his tears.
"Course Ary..." This was why he would never get bored and leave. Aristotle was so... entertaining 24/7.

Aristotle smiled softly, slowly standing and reaching down for Asher's hand.
"Umm....Do you mind if...you know if we ever did get to be anymore that friends...can you take it slow with me? I um...." He felt retarded...so retarded.

"Sure Aristotle." He nodded with a sweet smile, squeezing his hand lightly.

"Okay....Scoobydoo is on." He mentioned, tugging Ashers hand, going into his large home.

Asher grinned and followed him inside. Yes he would wattch cartoons if it meant being with Aristotle...

Aristotle sat down on his couch and flipped on the T.V. knowing the exact channel to turn it too.
Scoobydoo and Shaggy were in the middle of running away from some ghost.
He beamed at the scream, wiped his watery eyes and watched his favorite cartoon.

Asher sat down beside him and watched the television, ending up interested in the show himself. You were never to old for Scooby Doo.

Aristotle would press close to Asher when he got excited, and when he got a bit scared he would press to the couch, he was so adorable and childlike.
"I like Scoobydoo...." He nodded happily.

"I like Scooby Doo too." He smiled softly.

By the time the show was over, Aristotle had fallen asleep on Asher's shoulder, nuzzling and cooing softly.
Yes the boy was slow, and he didn't understand much but he knew what love was and he loved Asher...he trusted Asher and maybe it was a mistake but he didn't see it as one.

Asher kissed his temple and sighed down at him. This was certainly different from the other relationships he had but maybe that was a good thing. He needed something different to keep him entertained.

Aristotle was very different...he was sweet....
Chord padded down the stairs, not noticing Asher he walked to the side and flipped the t.v off, grumbling about the bed being cold and Aristotle being the one at fault for that.

"Hey Chord." He nodded, he'd moved Aristotle so the boy's head was in his lap.

Chord jumped, cursing loudly and flipping a light on, glaring at Asher.
"What in the fuck are you doing here?" He shook his head, gently lifting Aristotle over his shoulder like his friend was nothing.

Asher glared back, his attitude quickly changing to defense mode.
"He invited me here." He snapped

"Well...Im inviting you to leave. Asher damnit, where is Joslin? Go cuddle him and leave Aristotle alone! He cannot play your games." He snorted at the other boy.

"How about you shut your fucking mouth." He snapped again. "Look, you know nothing about me. Only what Joslin's told you. And if you would talk to Joslin even he knows Im' nto going to play games with Aristotle."

"Look, You can back off. I dont care what all there is to know, what I do know is, he cant be hurt, and he doesnt want a relationship. You back off Asher. I dont want to fight with you because Joslin loves you and amazingly so does Aristotle but damnit, I gotta protect him. I have done it for years, its my job. I dont slack."

"Chord damnit." He sighed "I'm not going to hurt him. Why can't you understand that?"

"Asher....I....I cannot just believe blindly, he does that. It does not work out well. Now....you just did hurt him. He cried all week because of you and...until I see where this is going.,imma be watching you and if you hurt him...thats your ass."

"Fine by me." He nodded.

"Then....Since he loves you...you can come up stairs and join the club, we are cuddly and warm. Or you can go home, either way." He shrugged.
