"Quinton made a comment about Alex not giving a fuck about when people hurt Mike." Rick explained.

"Well im sure he cares but he doesnt do much. I mean...Okay Dustin said when they were alive daddy was worse than all of you about being jealous and protective. Now...nothing. He is never jealous and I have seen you, me, David, Dewayne, Dustin...So many people bad mouth and hit momma and he does nothing. I mean.....Really nothing compared to how you and everyone else acts with their lovers.."

"Kevin please not now..." He cursed as Alex only got more angered.
He slapped him across the face.
"Calm down!"

"Im just telling the truth." He sighed softly. "Daddy....You dont protect momma anymore, people say you used to be his hero. Now he doesnt count on you for help. And none of us expect you to help him so...We dont worry, if we hit him oh well, no one is going to do anything."

Alex immediately stopped his fuming, a hurt look replacing the anger. He wasn't the hero anymore.
And it broke his heart. He stood, pushing past Rick and saying nothing else just going to his room.

Kevin sighed softly, standing up and padding into the room after his daddy.
"Daddy....Your my hero...my superman." He didnt want to hurt him...

"Don't gimme that bullshit Kevin.." He sighed.

Kevin frowned, immediately a hurt look crossing his face.
"Fine then! Be like that! Don't be my superman!! I can fend for myself!"
He huffed, tears filling his eyes as he stomped off.

Tears were in Alex's own eyes as he ran his fingers through his hair.
He wasn't superman anymore.

But to Mike....To his Mikey.....He would always be superman, always be the hero...even when Alex stopped protecting him and he watched his kids and their lovers and how they were in fits if someone so much as talked of their lover bad. Even though Alex never said anything, never made a move, let it happen, he shook it off as Alex just being tired of protecting him. He knew he had needed it so much when they were alive....It was apparent his lover was just tired and done with it. Mike was learning to try to fight back and fend for himself, something Chirs, Zac, Kevin, Biddy, Dewayne and Kelton never had to do...
But Mike did, and he didn't complain, he didnt mention it, he just stayed silent and rolled with the words and the punches.

Alex never meant to come off this way... he didn't mean to make it seem as if he didn't care. Mike had just started seeming like things never hurt him... Mike divorced Alex... Mike was still Mike Mizanin... not Mike Riley. Alex felt as if Mike was barely his to protect and he hated it...

Mike would hate to know he felt like that. He considered himself to still be Alex's lover, to still be with Alex. But his lover had been doing this....since he died. He never protected him anymore. Mike accepted it as Alex not loving him like he used too and that was ruining every thing.

After a while Alex stood and found his son.
"Am I really not Superman anymore...?" He asked softly.

Kevin looked up at his father, sniffling and wiping his eyes. The boy stood and wrapped his arms around his father, hugging him tightly and pressing his face into his fathers chest.
"Daddy....Daddy....Your MY Superman. You protect me and your babies, your superman to us, and....In momma's eyes you will always be his hero, even though us watching....you dont protect him anymore. I dont know why, neither does he but he says its because you dont love him anymore and your just tired of dealing with him. I say you just....I say I dont know why."

"I..." Alex frowned. "Its not that I... feel like he doesn't need me anymore. He divorced me... he's Mike Mizanin... not Mike Riley. I dont feel like he's mine to protect... it fucking kills me."

"Daddy...This was even before that....Like....When David comes over, and bad mouths him, and makes him feel like a shitty mother, and hits him! Yes the man has hit him several times. And when Rick does the same thing, you dont say anything, same with me, we hit him, we were mean, and all before you two divorced, you never said anything and what should momma do? You dont protect him, he thinks it means you dont love him anymore, your tired of him and you cheated...He divorced you...He tried to morph himself into something you want...He has no one now because im not talking to him, im mean to him. He cheated on you with Rick, i do love him, but im not being nice..."

Alex sighed.
"I dont know what to do Kevin... I just... things haven't been the same since Lane." He shook his head. "And no, I dont still love him. I'm over it but I'm just saying, thats what ruined everything. Its all my fault..."

Kevin frowned, leaning against his father.
"I want you two to go back to how you were....I want you and momma to remarry....I want you two to be...so in love like the couple Dustin told me about...I want the daddy who wanted to kill him over momma."

"I want that daddy back too baby." He sighed, hugging his son tight.

"Then lets get him back Daddy...Lets...Okay first, you dont let him know I love him alright? Im pissed at him, fuck him. But still, how can we fix it?"

"Kev baby... tell him you love him, please?" He sighed.

"No, now stop and come on, we need to make a plan....to get you and momma back to the way you were."

"I dunno how to fix it." he frowned, thinking.

"Well., first off, we get momma back...The go back to being the lover you were like...not just his husband! A little less comfortable, be like you were...So in love and not knowing where you were going...Forget everything, just you and him again."

Alex nodded.
"I sure will try." He pecked his son's temple.
