Vanillia Twilight

Jeff was sitting on the couch when the phone ran. "Hello?"

"Hey," Daffy answered. "Its Daffy, and I need you to come down. Mike is only getting worse and I think you may help. Having you there to support him and love him, I think will help." Daffy cleared his throat. "Will you come?"

Jeff, jumped off the couch, getting dressed as he spoke. "Of course I will!"

Daffy, sat down and waited for Jeff to come, all the while watching his friend get worse and worse.

Jeff walked into the room a few minutes later.

Daffy wordlessly got up and walked out, having already told the nurse to let Jeff see Mike. Mike laid on the bed, his skin hot to the touch, and he couldn't lay still.

Jeff walked over to the side of Mike's bed and took his hand. "Hey angel," Jeff whispered.

"Hey." Mike mumbled, shivering at how warm Jeff was, Mike had a fever, he was burning up but he was still cold.

Jeff sighed softly, running his free hand over Mike's hair. Poor thing looked miserable. "My poor baby," Jeff said softly.

"I don't feel good." Mike moaned, hiding his head in the covers.

"I know Bright Eyes, I know," Jeff whispered. "but I'm here now."

"Im cold." Mike whispered hoarsely. "C-Can you come cuddle with me?" Mike asked shyly in his sickened state.

"Of course darlin," Jeff smiled, slipping gently into Mike's bed.

Mike instantly latched onto Jeff and nuzzled his face into Jeff's neck. "I missed you." Mike said, instantly relaxing knowing Jeff was now there to protect him.

"I missed you too Mikey," Jeff said, holding him close. "You had me scared there for a while Bright Eyes."

"Hmmmm the doctors say you should be scared, im not doing so good apparently." Mike mumbled, cuddling closer.

"Don't you worry bout that now darlin," Jeff said. "You just worry about getting better."

"I am, I dont want to die."Mike replied simply. "I missed you holding me at night."

"I'm not gonna let that happen baby," Jeff replied. "I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere."

"Good, I thought I could handle this alone earlier, but now I see that I can't" Mike admitted, looking up at Jeff with glazed over eyes.

"Stubborn mule," Jeff muttered. He chuckled a little, "but I love you for it."

"Will you make sure I keep breathing if I go to sleep?" Mike sucked in a breath. "The doctor said I could die like that, if im awake I make sure to breathing but if I go to sleep im not awake and forcing the air in my lungs...im so tired."

Jeff nodded slowly, trying to mask the worry in his eyes. "I'll take care of you angel," Jeff said. "Get some rest."

Mike's eyes slipped shut and he fell into a dreamless, but fitful sleep.

Jeff stroked Mike's hair as he slept. He was determined to get Mike through this. He had to. He just had to.
