"I'm not the one who abandoned him and left him alone after he woke up and everything had changed. I didn't promise my heart to him, never said id do anything for him." Daffy nodded. "You did, I was there for him. Yeah I beat the shit out of him," Daffy shrugged. "So what, there's nothing you can do about it."

"I know I screwed up," Jeff said. "but I'm not going to do it again."

Mike brushed past Jeff and stood just in front of him, facing Daffy. "Daffy grinned. "Hey baby, did you enjoy you visit?" And with that he rared back his hand and swung, he hit Mike with so much force he went toppling off the porch.

Jeff growled. "Don't....touch....him."

Daffy rolled his eyes. "Fuck off." Daffy looked down at Mike and spit at him. "Now Michael, get in the truck." Daffy demanded. Mike put his head down and slowly got up, a hand on his stinging cheek. "O-Okay." Mike stuttered.

"Mike, you don't have to listen to him," Jeff said. "You don't have to take this."

"Wh-what other choice do I have, huh? Mike stared at Jeff through the tears.

"Let me fix what I've ruined, let me try this again...." Jeff said softly.

Daffy laughed aloud. "Really now Jeff, Okay." Daffy grinned. "And if it doesn't work out, he never remembers, still dont want the kid and you let him go again, where will he go? No parents, not husband, what in the hell would he do? That worthless piece of shit would die in some ally all alone is what he would do."

"I'm not going to let him go, not again," Jeff said. "I'm going to get my Mikey back."

Daffy picked up a small rock and flung it at Mike, catching him in the temple, causing a small trickle of blood to run down his face. "Oh yeah? That mean your going to give Hailey up?"

"No," Jeff said firmly. "Stop hurting him."

"Well, he don't want the kid, meaning you don't want him." Daffy jumped off the porch and took my by the hair slamming the side of his head into a big rock beside the porch. He turned back to Jeff. "Who's going to make me."

"I am," Jeff said, approaching where the pair stood slowly.

Mike slowly got up. "J-Jeffy don't." Mike whimpered, glancing at Daffy.

"I'm not going to stand by and watch him hurt you Mike," Jeff replied.

"Please." Mike begged, and then he sighed and walked over to Daffy and whispered to him. Daffy shrugged and kissed Mike's cheek. "Whatever." And Daffy got in his truck, pulling out of Jeff's drive way.

Jeff ran a hand through his hair and sighed.

"C-Can I spend the N-Night?" Mike asked quietly, he eyes downcast.

"Of course," Jeff smiled.

Mike let out a sigh of relief and walked back onto the porch, going inside, and back to the bathroom. Hie face needed some serious tending to.

Jeff followed behind him. "Want my help?"

"Yeah, but you promised the kid you would be with her soon." Mike shrugged, he wasn't a child; he could take care of himself.

"She's asleep Mikey," Jeff said. He'd just seen Hailey in the rocking chair when he came in. "Let me help you, please?"

"Fine, have at it." Mike said as he plopped back down onto the bench. "Im so tired." He murmured.
