Can't Be Strong

John smirked.
"Now do you?" He raised an eyebrow. "So I guess that means you'd have no problem with me doing this?" John leaned in and kissed Mike's lips softly.

Mike instantly melted into the kiss. It seemed as if his dream had come true, but then Mike stopped and pushed John away gently. "Im not taking advantage of you. And I....I can't do a one night stand with you. I just wouldn't be able to take the pain when you leave in the morning, knowing you wont be coming back.

"Why the hell would I leave?" John raised an eyebrow at the younger man, folding his arms.

Mike rolled his eyes. "Im not stupid enough to believe that you would want someone like me. And I....dont want to be your dirty little secret."

John rolled his eyes right back.
"Nice to see you think I'm so shallow." He said sarcastically.

"I just know better. I have had my heart broken to many times no to." Mike looked down, his heart aching.

"Ya didn't even get me a chance. That's not very fair is it?" John smirked, cupping Mike's face in his hands.

"John, im tired of opening up to people, I gave chances and I got then thrown back in my face." Mike stared into his almost lovers cobalt blue eyes.

"Guess I can say that I know how ya feel. I just took a chance. I opened up to you. I made the first move and kissed you. Who was rejected this time? The chance was thrown in my face now." John laughed humorlessly, walking back over to the other bed, eyes full of hurt.

"J-John!" Mike stuttered and followed him. "I-Im sorry.....I....Its just that I didn't expect you to really care, Im not that important. You can do better, it just doesn't seem to matter if you have me or not." Mike told him truthfully, his eyes welling up with tears.

"I'm not gonna lie Mike. I've never paid much attention to you. I haven't had some big crush on you for a while. But you... you showed that you actually cared. You made me smile. Genuinely smile for the first time in ages. I like being with you. But you obviously don't want me here so.."

Mike shook his head furiously. "I-Its not that!" He wailed, tears dripping down his cheeks and pooling at his chin. "I-I dont want you to go." He whimpered and reached out, his and firmly against John's chest.

"Then stop pushing me away Mike. I don't want to hurt you. I've been hurt too. Everyone has been hurt someway or another. I'm no different."

Mike sighed and looked down. Others had been hurt, but not like Mike had.

"Mike, calm down. If you don't want me here, just say so.I'll leave. Please quit the act."

Mike's head snapped up. "What act?" He asked quietly, he was not acting one little bit.

"Stop acting all weepy. I've seen this before. You don't want to be mean and just flat out reject me so you say you've been hurt and you think I'm going to hurt you again. I'm not stupid Michael."

Mike's lip trembled as he looked at John. "F-Fine, have y-your way." He cried and went back to his bed, immediately curling into a ball as sob's wracked his small frame and a small sob escaped his throat.

John gave a small 'hmph' and buried his head in the pillows.

After thirty minutes Mike had bitten all the way through his bottom lip trying to keep quiet while he sobbed. He had tried again and again to stop the tears but they kept coming and the constant sobbing was begging to hurt his chest but he just couldn't stop. Blood and tears puddled on the bed before sinking into the mattress.

"Mike..." John sighed. "I can still hear you, you know?" He said softly.

"I-Im sorry." He hiccuped out, taking the pillow and trying to smoother himself with it.

"You're allowed to cry. I don't care." John murmured. "I cried enough in front of you."

Mike shakily got up and went around the room gathering his things. He couldn't let John see him like this. "Y-You can keep my r-room for the n-night." Mike took his things and walked out the door, he went around until he found his car, he got in and started sobbing again. He would be sleeping in the car tonight.
