Will You Be My Savior?

"Right......." Jeff crossed his arms. "Sure you're not baby, not at all."

"Jeff." was all Matt could say before he coughed again

Jeff's eyes narrowed. "Yes Matt?"

Matt sighed and said "nothing." before coughing

"Mattie," Jeff sighed. "Don't keep things from me, you know I don't like that!"

Matt coughed and said "sorry Jeff." his stomach was starting to hurt

"Talk to me Mattie, what's wrong?" Jeff asked. "I can't help you if you won't talk to me."

Matt looked at Jeff and softly said "i don't feel good."

Jeff sighed softly. Now Matt really wasn't feeling well. "What's the matter baby, what's bothering you?"

"i have a stomachache." replied Matt coughing again

"Oh darlin," Jeff drawled softly. He placed his hand on Matt's forehead just as he'd done earlier. "You're definitely runnin' a fever."

Matt coughed and said " Jeff my thoat hurts."

Jeff nodded slowly. "You stay here baby, I'm gonna go find the thermometer, I think we might have to do this for real."

Matt coughed and replied "hurry back Jeff."

Jeff nodded and left the room in search of the thermometer.

Matt curled up under the blankets and coughed

Jeff came back a few minutes later with the thermometer. "Alright Mattie, c'mere, let's see what we're dealing with here."

Matt opened his mouth and let Jeff put the thermometer in

"That's my Mattie," Jeff smiled, stroking the older man's hair as he waited for the results.

Matt snugged up to Jeff starting to feel a little worse

The soft beep of the thermometer gave Jeff the cue that it was done. He gently pulled it from Matt's mouth and shook his head. "That's too high Mattie," Jeff said.

Matt coughed and asked " how high?"

"102.7," Jeff replied. "and from the looks of you, still climbing."

Matt moaned "no wonder i feel like crap."

"We need to get you to a doctor Mattie," Jeff said, setting the thermometer down on the bedside stand. "I think it'd be best if I take you into the ER, and old friend of mine is working tonight, she'll take a look at you."
