Misfit

"Mike don't go." Drew stood and quickly caught up with Mike.

"Its fine Drew, don't worry about it. I wouldn't want me as a friend either." His head hung as he walked.

"I want you as a friend. I just didn't say anything right now cause I didn't now how to respond to that."

"Okay then, I guess i'll see you tomarrow." Mike tried to smile through th tears.

"Mike... I-I'm sorry." Drew frowned. He didn't like making Mike cry.

"Im fine Drew, you have nothing to be s-sorry for." Mike tired to wipe his eyes but the tears kept coming so he kept walking.

Drew sighed and kept walking beside Mike.
"I'm bi.. I just..." He didn't know a nice way to explain things.

"Drew, you don't like me. I get it." He sped up. He wanted to be home already.

"I just like you as a friend. But I still want you as a friend. Please?"

"I AM your friend okay. I never said I wasn't." His house came into veiw and he thanked God for it.

"Mind if I come in?" Drew asked nervously.

Mike blinked and peeked in his house making sure his father wasn't there before letting him in and leading him to his room. "Here we are, my room."

Drew smiled He wasn't really sure why he wanted to come in. He just did.

Mike dropped his things by the door, and sat at his cair by the desk. Notes and a guitar sat beside that.

"You play?" Drew said, pointing to the guitar.

Mike nodded slowly. "Yeah, I love the guitar." He ran a hand over the strings lovingly.

"Could I hear you play somethin?" Drew asked.

Mike blused a bit before picking up the instrument. "Anything you want to hear?"

"Not particularly." Drew smirked, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Mike sighed and sat still, thinking of a good song.
He had written one the other day....but he would never let Drew hear that.
"If I die young, bury me in satin. Lay be down on a bed of roses. Sink me in the river, at dawn. Send me away with the words of a love song." Mike san quietly as he strumed his guitar.

Drew listened intently, slight smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth.

Mike cursed and stopped playing, he felt so stupid doing this. He sighed as his cheeks heated up.

"Why'd you stop?" Drew raised a brow. "You're good."

"Yeah, no." Mike was to nervous and embaressed to be good at the moment.

Drew smiled as he picked up the lyric sheet Mike had been looking off of.
"You write this yourself?"
