Mike did as Drew wanted. "Drew, im not lying. You are not weak in my eyes, you never will be and never have been. Your the man to me. We have just had a hard time lately."

"But for how long, it only took Lisa a month, she said she had found a new man, been with him for three weeks and just now had gotten time to write. It was a classic dear John letter. I just don't know when to expect my next one."

"I don't want to argue right now... Drew Mizanin sounds better than Mike McIntyre anyway..." Drew sighed.

"Well that is not going to happen. At least from me. Even if I do want to move on I won't do it with some bull shit letter. That's just rude. I will wait to find anyone else until you get back and I tell you face to face. I am no coward. But Quinton, I doubt I'll want to leave you."

"Mike McIntyre, that is final. I will been Michael Mizanin McIntyre. "
Mike held Drew close and let hid eyes drift shut.

Quinton only sighed and buried his head in Matt's shoulder. He was going to make himself believe Matt would not leave him. Matt would wait for him even if he wasn't worth it.

Drew wasn't going to argue but when the time came, he would be Drew Mizanin and that was final...

Matt stroked Quinton's back.
"I'll wait for you.."

The weekend went by very quickly. Monday morning Mike woke up, got ready, made breakfast, and then he brought Drew breakfast in bed. He set the try down and gently shook Drew's shoulder.

Quinton heaved a sighed.
"You really shouldn't have too."

Drew blinked his eyes open, immediately tugging Mike into his arms and kissing his forehead.

"Well I want to." Matt smiled. "I'd rather you stay here and not have to leave but I'll wait."

Mike chuckled.
"Morning baby, I made you breakfast in bed."
He wanted to just go back to bed instead of going to work.

Quinton grinned.
"You know what imma do? Imma put you in a song, just Wrap you up in a melody so you'll be stuck in my head all day 'cause you're already there anyway."

"You are way to good to me." Drew showered his face with kisses.

"Gosh, could you get any more corny?" Matt smirked, but he kissed Quinton's lips softly.

"Don't I know it."
He laughed and sat up before sitting the specially prepared break fast into his lover's lap.

Quinton beamed.
"Yes because this is how I would sing it." He smirked "Well I'd sing about your smile and your pretty blue eyes. The way your hair shimmers in the sunlight. It'd be so easy I'd just write it from my heart."

"Thank you Mikey." Drew smiled as he began to eat.

"Gosh, you're so cliche." Matt rolled his eyes mockingly. "And yet I love it."

Mike nodded and got up, he needed to go make sure his neck was not infected.

Quinton stuck out his tongue before continuing. "If I could press play, repeat how happy I'd be. Wherever I'd go I'd have you there with me. You'd be right where you belong. I wanna put you in a song."

"Love you." Drew called after him.

Matt grinned.
"You're so quiet... until I want you to shut up." He joked.

"Love you too baby, you know I do!" Mike check his neck and then kissed Drew goodbye.

Quinton's grin faltered and he did indeed shut up and he was unusually quiet for the rest of the day.

Mike was already gone at work when the mail came. Drew sifted through it as always, ignoring most of the unimportant things. But one envelope caught his eye. It was from the national guard. His stomach twisted in a knot as he tore open the envelope. His fears were confirmed as he read through it.
Mike had to go to war.
"N-no..." He whispered and before it even completely sank in, his wobbly knees gave out on him and he collapsed to the ground. Sobs wracked his body as tears poured down his face. He'd just known this would fucking happen. He curled up in a ball, letter still clenched tightly in his fist as he cried. And this was how he stayed all day, until Mike came home.

"Quinton... I was only joking." Matt frowned as he hugged Quinton.

Mike came home and panicked when he saw his fiance. He quickly picked him up and cradled him in his arms.
"Drew baby, what happened? Are you okay."
Mike was too panicked to notice the paper in his lovers hand as he looked Drew over to see if there were any visible signs of something being wrong.

Quinton played dumb, he was being a baby but it had stung. Maybe he had been wrong when he was the only boy in school trying to be sweet and romantic, everyone else only wanted a quick fuck. They said he would only annoy the girl with the stupid shit he said and the little sweet gestures, causing him to talk less and less.
"Joking about what?" He asked quietly.

Drew shoved the letter in Mike's face.
He had told Mike not to fucking do this.

"When I said I wanted you to shut up. I was only kidding Quinton. You were being sweet and I liked it." Matt frowned.

Mike read it over once, twice, three times, four times, five times, before tears blurred his vision. Mike drug a hand across his face to make sure he would NOT cry before trying to calm his fiance down.
"Drew baby, stop crying." He pleaded.

Quinton blushed.
"Im sorry, I just didnt want to irritate you."
He looked down like a scolded child.

"I t-told you!" Drew cried harder. "I t-told you not to j-oin the national g-guard!" He sobbed.

"You weren't irritating me." Matt smiled softly.

Mike sighed and nodded. "I know you did Drew, I know."
That did not change the fact that he was leaving.

"Oh....You said you wanted me to shut up so....I did as you asked me too."

"You're going to fucking d-die!" Drew cried. "ANd l-leave me all alone to r-raise Paige!"

"Quinton, I was joking. Now c'mere." Matt pulled Quinton into a hug.

That had stung, his heart constricted painfully.
"Drew, calm down. I might not die and even if I did your momma can help until you....Y-You find someone else."
Mike did not like the thought of that.

Quinton his his face into Matt's neck.
"Im just being a baby, im sorry Matt."

"I d-don't want anyone e-else!" Drew hiccupped.

"No, I was an ass. I'm sorry." Matt cooed, stroking Quinton's back.

"Drew baby, come here and let me hold you."
Mike wrapped his arms around Drew and held him tightly.

Quinton sighed, they had not been together for even three days and he was causing problems.
"Matt, I was just being over sensitive."

"See? I should be holding you! I'm such a b-baby!" Drew screamed.

"No, I like this. It shows me your not too tough. There's a heart in there." Matt smiled, laying his hand where Quinton's heart was.

Mike sighed and looked at Drew with a broken stare.
"Then hold me."

Quinton looked own at the hand that covered his heart. I was warm, he could feel that. And the things Matt said, Quinton was not a tough mean man even though he should be.
