Somewhere With You

"My poor poor baby. I love you ya know... I really hope ya wake up soon. Just won't be the same without you..."

Kevin didnt hear his father, couldnt hear his father. Though he wished his could. He hated being in the dark.

Alex had a feeling he couldn't hear, but the same as when Mike was on his deathbed, talking to his unconscious form gave him hope. Kept him from worrying.

But it was hopeless. Kevin was NOT waking up and he would NOT wake up....for a very long time.

Deep down, Alex had a feeling about that. But... a much larger part wanted to pretend Kevin was still there... just asleep.

It had been two and a half months. Kevin was still out of it. Mike was currently trying to help Rick with the baby while Alex gave Kevin his physical therapy.

Rick was going insane without his lover. Literally, some nights he'd just sit in bed, shaking, muttering to himself, trying to pretend that Kevin was right there beside him like always.

Kevin let one eye lid slide open, closing again, the light to harsh even in the dimly light room. His tried again minutes later, slowly blinking his eyes open, bringing a hand up to weakly rub them. He noticed his leg was moving. He looked down to see his father moving his leg like he would if he was riding a bicycle.
"D-Daddy?" Kevin croaked weakly, his voice low and raspy.

Alex's head snapped up.
"B-baby?" Alex stammered, beaming.

Kevin blinked and gave a small nod, his voice already gone.
He simply mouthed.
"Water."

Alex ran faster than he ever had and was back in a matter of seconds with a glass of water.
"Here baby." He lifted Kevin's head gently and held the glass to his lips, tipping it so just a bit slid into his mouth at first.

Kevin swallowed, greedily sipping down all the water in a matter of seconds.
He gave a small cough looking up at Alex tiredly.
"D-Daddy...." Kevin coughed again, losing his voice.

"Baby.. you're awake.." He was weak but he was awake...

Kevin gave a small nod.
Kevin let his eyes slid shut again, he was so tired...

"RICK! MIKE!" Alex ran out of the room and yelled down the stairwell.

Mike's head snapped up, he cradled the baby against his chest and came running. Kevin was jolted awake by the yells.

Rick slowly trudged up the stairs. He didn't care about anything anymore. Without Kevin, it just wasn't worth it.
"What?" He grumbled.
"Kevin!" Alex looked like a child on christmas morning.
Rick's eyes widened as he ran into the room.
"Baby!" His eyes filled with tears of pure joy.

Kevin stared at Rick with wide eyes.
"Rick." He mouthed, a grin stretching across his face. Mike let out a small squeak of excitement when he say his baby's eyes, his bright blue eyes for the first time in months.

Rick broke into hysterics. Bawling and laughing, wanting to pick up Kevin and spin him around.

"R-Rick...."
Kevin rasped weakly, his hand trying to get to Rick's.

Rick took his loverz hand, kissing the back of it.
"Baby... I.. I missed you."

Kevin nodded but looked confused.
"Where....h-have...I-I...been...."

"Baby, you've been unconscious. For... around three months?" He looked at Mike questioningly. He'd stopped counting the days.

Mike nodded with a smile.
"But its okay, your here now baby."
Mike offered the baby to Rick.

Rick took the baby with a smile.
"See baby? Rick Jr. Ain't he beautiful?" Rick beamed at his child as he held him so Kevin could see.
