Kevin sighed and simply tugged harder, a small smile on his face and he pulled on his father.

"You are so confusing boy." Alex chuckled as he got in the bed and laid down beside his son.
"There, better?"

Then for some reason he felt compelled to ask.
"You....stayed with me the night I had Rick Jr.....you....talked to me...slept with me....made me feel safe."

"Oh... you remember that?" Alex blushed slightly

"I just remember feeling very tired and sick...and then black and...then even though I felt so bad I felt safe....I always feel safe with you daddy."

"Well momma called me a bitch." Kevin laughed and kissed his fathers cheek. "But ill let momma slide, he was defending you."

Kevin giggled. "You know according to momma Lane was one of the reasons having Rick was so bad on me...."
He was kidding, trying too.

Alex sighed and looked down.
"I think Rick took care of him for me." He smiled softly.

"I think he did too....he was pissed the fuck off when Lane hurt his baby....I hope he is happy with his baby...Rick Jr seemed so perfect.

"He is..."Alex smiled. "So happy. I can tell. But he'll be even happier with you."

"Yeah....I dont think I get pregnant again....me and momma talked about it and just.....im sick daddy, im very, very sick. I have always been sick you and Rick just never knew..."

"Why wouldn't you tell me baby." He sighed with a frown.

"Because....I didnt want you to love me because im the cripple child and I kinda am. Im the sick one, the one who can only take so much. I wanted you to love me like you do Alex and Sydney. I have to work for it, I had to in the first place. I didnt want you to pretend because I was sick." Kevin looked disgusted and he was, he was very disgusted with himself.

"Baby you can't help it." Alex sighed. "And baby I do love you like Alex and Sydney. I do. I might have a fucked up way of showing it but I do."

Kevin sighed father warily.
"So.....Im going to bite you or something. Momma....momma doesn't know why im so different from the rest of the kids."

But ALex didnt seem like he would ever love him or Jessie like he loved Alex or Sydney.

"Baby, please stop thinking I don't love you as much as them. Cause I do. I loev you... more if thats possible. That's why I treat you different. I know it sounds crazy but its not cause I love you less. I love you more...." Alex sighed. "And I'm sure I'll love Jessie if she'd come around more..."

Kevin looked up surprised. That had been Mike's theory. He thought Alex loved Kevin more, and that was why he was so different.
