Just A Number..

Zac sighed but nodded.
"Okay.." It was so hard to argue when he just wanted to relax in Quincy's strong embrace.

The man rested his chin on top of Zac's scrawny shoulder, humming to himself as he held the small child.
"You gotta leave soon?"

"I dunno... the way Aaron was going on I don't know if he'll stop." He grinned.

"Ehhh, Kevin is kinda like a momma to him. Mike abandoned him but Kevin always snuck around to come see him. He sure does love old Kevin." He grinned, kissing the shoulder he was resting on.

"I can see that.... oh and I can leave if you want me to or something.." It was rude to come to someone's house uninvited...

Quincy frowned.
"Now why in the hell would I want that? Zac your always welcome here, no matter what time of day or night."

Zac couldn't help the small smile.
"Okay, I just ddn't want to be rude..."

"Why would you think of it like that? Your kinda dating me. Unless you don't wanna then we can go back to being friends. Is that what this is about?"

"No. Trust me, no, not at all." Zac shook his head furiously. "I just, am nervous around you sort of... I don't wanna screw this up." He smiled

"Awwww thats cute but Zac I don't think you can unless you wanna end this. I know its wrong on my part but I......"
He loved the small boy.

"It's probably wrong on my part too. But I don't really think age matters much..."

"But I have done so much wrong....Im scared im going to wind up hurting you and not even mean to." He gave a small sigh.

Zac sighed softly as he thought that through.
"I'm... willing to take that change. I'm giving you my heart and if you break it... it's my own fault." He pecked Quincy's cheek. "I know what you've done. I know the kind of person you used to be but I refuse to stop seeing you because of it. I never really felt like this before and I'm not going to let it go because of something that happened a long time ago."

Quincy held the boy tightly.
He ignored the stinging in his eyes. This boy was worth everyhing he would lose. He was going to take care of this boy and love him.
"I love you...."

"And I love you too." Zac said quietly. He did. And it sort of frightened him.

Quincy held him tighter.
He had never gotten a chance to really love anyone since he had been married and they were still alive. And he still had the ring on his bedside table.
But Zac....He loved this kid.

Zac smiled as he rolled over and buried his head in the crook of Quincy's neck, taking in every single detail of this moment.

"God...I shouldn't love you but I want to and I do...."
He no longer cared what anyone else at t say.

"You have no idea how happy that makes me... I feel the same." Zac's face lit up with a grin.

"Your father and your gandpa are going to kill me." He kissed Zac softly.
"But as long as your okay."

"Yeahh they will. But I won't let them. I'll probably get my ass beat but if they find out, no way in hell I'm letting em hurt you..."

"Zac im telling you now. You had better not get yourself into trouble or else this can't work. I wont let you be hurt for me so you had better not."

"I can't guarantee that but I'll try not to." He sighed.

"Zac baby you cannot do that. You need to promise me you wont. Im a grown man. I can take care of myself,"

Zac sighed.
"I know you can but... they're fuckin nasty when pissed and they can seriously hurt you..."
