Just A Number..

"No, you hold him. I'm being a baby!" Zac exclaimed, pointing at Kevin.

"Your my baby, his too..."
Quincy hugged Zac tightly.
"Shhh baby, why dont you hold him while I see where we are. You can sleep at my house tonight, ill take care of you and your momma."

Zac rubbed at his eyes and nodded as he moved over to stroke his mother's hair.

Kevin blinked at him but did nothing else.
Quincy ran a hand through his hair.

"Oh fuck... daddy's going to flip..." Zac frowned deeply as he looked down at his mother.
And his father would blame Quincy.... he just knew it. Even though Quincy had been the one to save him...

Quincy sighed and sat down.
"I'll take the fall for it...."
Kevin's face was blank as he stared.

"No... he's already against forgiving you...you deserve to be thanked for saving him. So even if my dad wont, thank you..."

"Your welcome baby..."
Kevin laid still, looking at them.
"Who are you guys?" He rasped weakly.

Zac prayed and hoped that he just couldn't see clearly.... prayed that his mother had not forgotten everything.
"I-I'm your son, Zac... and this is my boyfriend Quincy." He spoke softly and slow as if he was speaking to a five year old.

"Um.....Okay. Who am I?" He frowneds at him. "Are you sure? Im to young to have a kid....I dont have a boyfriend?"

Zac whimpered.
"I'm... not really yours. You adopted me... But you do have a real kid, a baby. Your name is Kevin Riley. And you have a fiance but he isn't here right now..."

Quincy rubbed his back.
Kevin looked at him.
"What would I want a kid who isnt mine?"

Zac sighed and simply shook his head.
"I don't know. I really have no clue at all."

Quincy hugged him tightly.
"Zac...He dosen't know. I guess when that man hit him in the temple it fucked him up. He is not your momma, he is Kevin. Only your momma can explain why he loves you so much and he does..."

"Baby I know." Zac sighed but nodded, as he caressed his mother's cheek.

Kevin didnt love, just laid there like he had been.
Quincy threw Kevin over his shoulder, taking Zac in his arms and then walking on.

Zac sighed as he looked up at his mother.
His mother didn't know who he was....
He simply laid his head on Quincy's chest.

It took a while, the sun was coming up by the time Quincy got home. He put Zac in one arm and unlocked his door. He then laid Kevin in his bed and Zac beside him.
"Zac baby...You two stay here. Imm make sure he is okay, then imma go see if I can find a job......." He kissed Zac softly before going and getting things to doctor Kevin with.

Zac watched him.
"Okay, well you don't have to... if you need money... I got it. Lemme handle it. I already planned on paying you back for that." He reached around in his pocket until he found the pile of unfolded bills. He quickly counted them and handed them to Quincy. "That's only about 1100. But trust me, I'll give you the rest okay?" He pecked his cheek.

Quincy shook his head, pushing it back.
"No baby....You don't need to do that. Im a man, I can get that money back, its just money. Your momma means alot more than that." He gave zac an eskimo kiss.
"I love you though."

"No, take it please. I want you to have it. Not like I was gonna use it any time soon." He shrugged. "And I love you too." He smiled softly.

Quincy sighed but sat it on the table beside his bed. He reched into his pocket and pulled out a small black box. He offered it to Zac with a smile.

Zac smiled at him, raising an eyebrow as he took the box.
"What's this?"

"Open it." He gave a small smile.
It was a key. The key was attached to a necklace. The key was especially made. It was black with blue dots on it. "Zac McGuire" Writtin at the top in pink.

Zac grinned as he opened the box and took out the key necklace. "Hmm, I like it." He smirked at him. "But what's it open?"
