This is the Last Night You'll Spend Alone

Evan picked Destiny up, holding her tightly. "I missed you so much Dessi," Evan said. "Missed you to daddy," Destiny said. She spot Randy and waved at him.

Randy chuckled and waved at the young girl.

"Hi," Destiny smiled at Randy with her father's signature smile.

"Hi, I'm guessing your Destiny." He smiled, kneeling down so he was at eye level with the girl.

Destiny nodded. "Uh huh, but everybody calls me Dessi," she smiled. "What's you're name?"

"I'm Randy. You know, you have your daddy's smile." Randy smiled, pointing at Evan.

"That's what Auntie Mia says too," Destiny grinned. "It's nice to meet you Randy," she added politely.

"Nice to meet you too Dessi." He smirked.

Destiny smiled widely before running over to change the piece of music on her piano.

Randy watched her play. She was amazing for her age. She played better than Randy had ever been able to and he'd taken some lessons as a child. He sat down beside her in front of the piano, and just watched her play.

Evan watched as Destiny played. She'd gotten so much better since the last time he'd listened to her.

Destiny paused and Randy took over, trying to remember what he had learned for five straight years of his life. Destiny smiled over at him as he played.

Destiny grinned as she watched him. She hadn't played with anyone in ages.

Randy stopped.
"You're much better than I am. Play some more." He gave Destiny an encouraging pat on the back.

Destiny grinned as she started to play again, blue eyes locked on the piece of music in front of her. She was lost in the melody, caught up in the music she was playing. Evan watched her with a wide smile on his face. He knew her music was how she'd dealt with her older father's death. She'd buried herself in music for hours after it happened.

Randy just shook his head at how amazing this little girl's playling was. He stepped back beside Evan.
"She's really good Evan."

"Yeah she is," Evan smiled. "Chris started teaching her about a year ago, she really got into it after he got sick."

"She's only been playing for a year?" Randy gaped. "I played for five and she's still better than me."

Evan shrugged. "With Chris in the hospital as much as he as and me normally right there next to him, that's how she occupied her time," Evan said.

Randy nodded, still mesmerized by the young girl.

Evan looked at the clock. "Dessi, why don't you go get washed up for dinner while I help you're Aunt Mia finish up?" Evan asked. "Yes sir," Destiny smiled, scampering off.

"Can I meet her?" Randy asked, he felt like a child with the curiosity in his voice.

"Mia?" Evan asked. "Of course."

Randy nodded with a smile and followed Evan into the kitchen.

"Mia, you need a little help?" Evan asked. Mia nodded. "Could you get the table ready Evey?" she asked him. "Sure," Evan smiled. Mia turned around and noticed Randy. "Oh hi there, I'm Mia, I didn't see you there!"
