I Live This Moment As My Last

Angel coughed softly as she laid in the bed. Samantha stood next to her bed, painting her nails blue, her favorite color. She looked over at Jeff. "Is Mattie coming?" Angel asked. Jeff nodded. "He'll be here soon Ange." Jeff said. "Did you tell him what I wanted?" Jeff nodded. "I told him the dress, heels, wig, everything you asked for," Jeff said. Angel swallowed thickly and nodded weakly. "I don't want to die in this body, not like this," Angel said. "This wasn't the body I was meant to be in, this isn't the body I'll go away in."

Matt bit his lip nervously as he made his way to Angel's room with a bag of Angel's stuff, he was scared that he was really going to lose him.

Angel managed a weak smile when he saw Matt. "Hey sugar," Angel said weakly.

Matt gave Angel a smile "Hey love how are you feeling?"

Angel shrugged. "About the same as yesterday," Angel said with a cough.

Matt nodded as he put the bag down and sat next to Angel.

Angel held his hand out to Matt and smiled.

Matt smiled and took Angel's hand squeezing it gently.

A serious look spread across Angel's face. "Honey, you do realize what this could be for me, don't you?" Angel said.

Matt nodded slowly "Yeah love i know." he said softly.

"No matter what happens Mattie, I want you to know that I love you," Angel said. "I don't want you to remember me like this, this isn't me."

Matt nodded sadly "I love you too."

"Sugar...." Angel said softly. "You knew when you got with me that this day would come," Angel said with a cough.

Matt squeezed his hand "Yes but it still don't make this easy love."

"I know sugar I know," Angel said softly, before going into a coughing fit.

Matt gently rubbed Angel's back as he continued to cough.

Angel finally stopped and laid back on the bed.

Matt sighed softly as he squeezed Angel's hand.
