When Crickets Cry...

Brayden sighed but nodded reluctantly pulling back his extended hand. It was so hard not to touch when he wanted to so badly....
He frowned but began to sing softly.
"Love me tender,
love me sweet,
never let me go.
You have made my life complete,
and I love you so.

all my dreams fulfilled.

and I always will.

Angel was asleep by the time the song was over, Higgy holding him, protecting him as he got the first sleep he had in weeks.

Brayden sighed at how beautiful he looked sleeping, so peaceful.... God, how bad he wanted to touch him... Wanted to stroke his hair, wanted to hold his hand, wanted to.... no. He would stop there. He walked back over to his chair and sat down, watching him.

Higgy was up early the next morning. He looked down at Angel and gently pressed a kiss to his cheek. He looked around, his gaze falling on Brayden.
The hell? Had he been here all night?

Brayden nodded at him.
"Hey. Sleep well?"

"Yeah, thanks." He gently, picked Angel up and set him back on the couch alone, smiling as he curled up and snuggled the couch.
"Can I make breakfast? He needs to eat something. Ill make it and clean up, or I can go home and do that...Just as long as he eats."

He smiled at Angel before standing.
"I can cook." He nodded. "What's he like?"

"Umm...He has a special menu. I gotta mix medicine in with his food and what not. It'd be best if I did it. He is complicated."

He sighed softly but once again nodded.
"Alright..."
He couldn't do anything for Angel...

Higgy stepped into the kitchen and went through the food, chewing his lip and he though about what he might could get Angel to eat today.

Brayden simply watched as Angel slept, taking in how breathtaking he looked.

Angel was still shaking, tormented even in his dreams.
He was raised on the streets of the bad side of town, passed around with the slave trade.

Brayden didin't like how he seemed to be having a nightmare but he needed the sleep apparently...

Angel was indeed having a bad dream, it was a day with that man who had him for a while. He was horrible, he was one of the reasons Angel was terrified by loud sounds.

Brayden sang quietly, hoping to calm Angel in his sleep.

Angel was still again, a small smile on his face.
"Bray...." He murmured, ignoring the voices who accused the man of trying to scare him.

Brayden grinned as he continued cooing and singing to him.

Higgy could he heard cursing in the kitchen, he has accidentally cut his finger.
"Higgy..." Angel frowned lightly, worried in his sleep for a man he had silently crushed over for a long time.

Brayden popped his head in the kitchen.
"You alright in here?"

"Im fine." He smiled. "Just a bit clumsy. Is your mental patient up yet?"

"Nah, but I dont wanna wake him yet. He's adorable." He smiled softly.

Higgy paused, looking back at him.
"You kinda sound and act like you have a small crush on him?"

A blush crept to Brayden's cheeks making him blink. He just didn't blush. This was the first time.
"Course I don't... he's my brother." He nodded.

"Ummm okay but usually I dont hear people calling their brothers adorable unless they are a baby and he is not a baby."

Brayden stayed silent, not confirming or denying his crush on Angel anymore..
