When Crickets Cry...

Angel had given up hope after two weeks.
He completely closed up.
He went back to his home and refused to come back.

Vikki nervously walked out to Higgy's place.
"I'm going to stab you Brayden..." She muttered to herself as she knocked on the door.

Higgy opened it, he was dirty, and only in a pair of torn jenes.
"Hello?"

"Um, you're Higgy, right? Is... Angel here?" She asked nervously, lookign at her feet.

"No...He went home. Dont you go bothering him either, he might hurt you small fry." Higgy smiled.

"Oh... well uh, I was supposed to come tell you something. Brayden asked me to tell you and Angel that he wants to come back. He wasn't lying. He got grounded and he's locked in his room.."

"Thanks but....Angel is gone baby....He lost hope three days ago." He sighed sadly.

"What?" Brayden would kill his father... "Can you, is there anyway you can tell him what I said? Brayden misses him like crazy..."

"He wont listen....He locked me....everyone put of his home...I try everyday but he wont come out...Wont eat...Wont sleep..."

"Oh gosh.. Brayden's been trying but.. daddy but bars on the window...." She bit her lip.

Higgy frowned, growling lightly.
"He is killing Angel....The boy wont even let me close..."

"He's trying so hard..." She brushed her hair out of her face. "I don't know why but he NEEDS To see Angel and he's going insae over there.."

"I don't know, ask him why but I just....Tell him....Angel waited for two weeks.....He almost stared himself to death and he is sleep deprived, he will just black out for a few seconds from lack of sleep.

"I'm going to try and help him sneak out but..." She didn't know...

"Sweetheart, dont get yourself into trouble...Angel wont trust him again...." Higgy knew...

"But, oh this isn't fair." She bit her lower lips.

"I know.....If he gets out he can come see about it but right now its done with....He let Angel down even if it wasn't his fault."

"Momma was upset with him for not telling them where he was going so he said he was grounded for a week. Brayden hit momma and daddy had a fit and made it a month." She explained. "Well there's something he isn't telling me but I'm going to try to get him to see Angel." She nodded.

Higgy frowned.
"Look kid, don't get yourself in trouble. Its already too late." He shook his head at her.

"Brayden's gonna kill daddy.." She sighed. "Well thank you... G'bye." She nodded.

"Bye." Higgy passed her and went on to work on the fence bordering his home.

Brayden had a fit when Vikki told him everything. He needed out... but any arguing would only add more time..

Higgy tried to get Angel to let him in but the small boy refused....
All Higgy could do was wait.

Finally, Brayden was let out of the house. He was immediately down at Higgy's again, banging on the door.

Higgy groaned, rolling out of bed and going to the door, he immediately pulled Brayden into a tight hug.
