When Crickets Cry...

Higgy sighed, looking over his shoulder at the small boy.
"Brayden...Just...." He gave up and turned over, pulling the small ball that was Brayden into his arms.

"I'm sorry if I like... did something..." He trailed off

"I just....You....Don't touch me like you were okay? Its not okay."
No....And it bothered him.

"Oh... I'm sory...." He hadn't even realized he was doing it... he really did think of Higgy as family. That was how he would cuddle with his mother or father when he was younger. He was always so cold it seemed.

Higgy sighed.
"Baby....Im just....I like you alot and I dont wanna be like your father and I dont want to make things weird with us."

"There's nothing wrong with my parents.." He pointed out softly. "So, wait... by saying that you dont wanna be like my father you mean.... liking a teenager like that?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Yes baby, thats exactly what im saying."
He didn't like it either.

"So... you like me? Or Angel?" He chewed his lip, fighting off the small smile.

"You, I love Angel but he is my baby....Your different Brayden...."
He wanted to love him.

A small smirk worked its way across Brayden's face.
This would be fun.
"Oh, well... I like you a bit too." He nodded.

"Your ridiculous. Im like....seventeen, way to old for you." He chuckled lightly.

"Totally too old. This is worse than my momma and daddy." He rolled his eyes sarcastically, still smirking.

"Well yeah, im mental and your supposed to be with a little boy who is in an insane asylum at the moment."

"Yeah." Brayden sighed, nodding. He always was a flirt and this was fun though..

"Yeah so this would be defined as cheating Brayden." Higgy frowned to him.

"Sorry then..." He bit his lip. Were he and Angel dating?

"Well...Look I....Are you with Angel or not? I mean....until he gets back ill keep you company and what not but are you...with him?"

"I don't know honestly..." He sighed softly. "I sorta wanna be but... lord knows how long it'll be before he gets out of there."

"Then...Be with me until we get him out?" He asked, he was only maybe three years older.

"I'd like that." Brayden nodded, smirk returning.

"Cocky little bitch is what you are." He laughed lightly. "Im a bitch to be with."

"Yes I am. Thank you for noticing. But damn, I wish you would've waited a little longer before agreeing. I could have teased you so much." That would have been so much fun.. Brayden loved teasing people.

Higgy rolled his eyes.
"Brayden, you cant out tease me, I was with Biddy, the biggest tease in the world.

"But I could have fun trying." He winked

"Yeah, I bet you could do that." He grinned and nodded.
