Hectic

Calvin had been supposed to pick up his son from his ex girlfriend. They'd been in love, yes. She had his child and cheated, once she decided she couldn't take his personality changes anymore. They were done, hated each other now but they still had a kid. They had split custody of him. His name was Steven and he was three years old. Calvin got him for a week then he went back to Stephanie, his ex.
Calvin ran to her house, she was waiting out on the porch with the child in her lap.
"You're late." She narrowed her eyes. "Three hours late."
"I know, I'm sorry. I got distracted." He sighed.
"Daddy!" The little boy grinned.
Calvin smiled and kissed his cheek, lifting him.
"Hey baby."
"I mishded you." He nodded.
"I missed you too baby. Come on." Calvin grinned and walked off with his child.
"Have him back Saturday at noon!" Stephanie called.
"Got it!" Calvin responded.

Gabriel had gone back to his room, getting dressed while Colbie tugged him outside, determined to upset him in some way.
She hated him now.

"Baby, you stay quiet okay? There's a boy I wanna see in here. But he's very sick. I don't want you to upset him. We're just gonna go in this house for a second."
"Otay daddy." Steven nodded obediently as David walked back inside, looking for Gabriel.

Colbie was screaming at him, Telling him he was a whore and laughing in his face because he was to sick to go out and do anything, even go running.
He was totally silent, just trying to ignore her.

Steven shook his head furiously, covering his ears.
"Daddy, WOWD! She's being WOWD!" He didn't like loud noises.
"Shh baby. Stay here." He set him down on the floor, glaring at Colbie, just barely keeping his cool.
"Look, I dunno why you're saying this crap if you're his sister but I suggest you stop it right now." He snapped, looking at Gabriel.

"YOU SHUT UP!!! DONT TAKE UP HIM!!! YOUR JUST DOING IT BECAUSE YOU WANNA GET INTO HIS PANTS OR SOME SHIT!! WELL HE HAD AIDS!! YOU CANT!! HE AINT WORTH FUCK!! NO ONE WANTS HIS DISEASED ASS NOW!"

"You listen here young lady and listen good! I don't plan on fucking him! I don't want to fuck him! He is your damn brother and I don't see why you are being such a snob to him! someone needs to spank your ass and if your momma hears I bet he will." He snarled.
Steven was crying in the corner.

Gabriel lowered his head, sniffling as he shook it off and went over to the child. He waved to him, his eyes softening.

Steven sniffled but fisted the tears away and gave him a toothless grin.
"Hi." He waved.

Gabriel nodded, opening his arms for the small child, just in case he might wanna be held.

Steven smiled and hugged him around the waist. With one more growl at Colbie, Calvin walked over to them, smiling down at his son.
"Sorry Gabe, I think he likes ya.."

Gabriel nodded, cocking his head as he leg his arms wrap around the small child.

"That's my kid. His name's Steven." He nodded. Steven had a large bruise on his arm.
Calvin frowned.
"Baby, what'd ya do?"
"Oh...." He paused as if thinking. "I fell down..."

Gabriel held the child snuggly to his chest, nuzzling the top of his head, nodding to Calvin.

Calvin ruffled Gabriel's hair gently, smiling at him and hugging him.
Steven looked up at them.
"Daddy..." He tugged on his pant leg.
"Yes baby?"
"Aw you donna find a new mwomma soon?" He asked. "I downt wike doing back and fowth."
Calvin sighed.
"I'll work on it sweetness."

Gabriel was silent, as always. But he knew what it was like to feel like he had no mother. He cuddled the small boy, his eyes sad as he thought, one thing Colbie had said ringing in his ears.
Who would want him now with his disease?
No one.

Calvin rubbed Gabriel's back as Steven clung onto him.
"Why is he twiet?"
"He don't talk baby."
"Why?"
"Cause he don't wanna."
"Why?"
"Because I don't know."
"Well why?"
"No more questions."
Steven pouted.
"Yes daddy."

Gabriel frowned, his eyes getting darker and darker as he thought about this. Yes he was strange, yes he was mute in a way.
He never spoke.
And right now he couldnt.

"Daddy, whats he doing?" Steven pointed to Gabriel's eyes, he noticed the darkness.
"I dunno baby." He turned to Gabriel. "You okay hun?"

Gabriel stood, holding the small child to his hip as he looked around, his deep frown in place as always.

Steven whined, grabbing at his father. Calvin lifted him up and Steven squirmed around to face Gabriel.
"Smiew.." He grinned widely. "Wike dis." He turned up the corners of his mouth.

Gabriel cocked his head to the side, stepping closer, the corners of his mouth twitching lightly.

Steven giggled.
"I smiew aww da time!" He beamed happily. "Cept for when mwomma ish angwy." He nodded but went back to grinning, continuing to play with Gabriel's face as Calvin gently scolded him how that was not nice.

Gabriel shook his head at Calvin, putting his index finger to his lips in a 'shh' motion. He put the child's hands on his face and let him play, flashing him a large grin.
Sure, usually he hated people touching his face but he would deal for the child.

Steven giggled and clapped happily.
"Bettew!" He nodded.
Calvin grinned at the two.
