Hectic

Steven was trying to be quiet and good.
"Imma be twiet wike you." He nodded, shutting his mouth.

Calvin fought with the man at the bar before it ended up in him drinking in front of him, which got his ass thrown in jail for underage drinking. He spent the night in the prison. He was let out the next morning though. He stormed home, now back to normal and cursing himself for leaving his baby alone.

But Steven wasn't alone. Gabriel, even though sick, tired, and weak, acted like a momma. He played with the child, fed him, bathed him, and laid him down to sleep, curled against Gabriel's chest.

Calvin worriedly burst into the room, sighing of relief and smiling wide when he saw them curled up together.
"Amazing..." He whispered.

Gabriel twitched, his hand coming up to rest in the baby's hair, smiling softly, kissing his cheek and curling tighter, his eyes never opening.

"Beautiful..." He was really starting to like this boy...

Gabriel cracked his eye open this time, hearing the man. He waved, very gently taking Steven and scooting them both over to give Calvin room.

"Thank you so much, Gabe." He smiled softly. "I'm sorry for running off."

Gabriel shook his head, reaching warily for his pad.
I enjoyed him. He made my day brighter.
The child really had made him happy, made him smile.

"He's a little ball of sunshine, ain't he?" He smiled softly.

Gabriel nodded.
He is alot like you. I have never smiled so much.

"I'm glad he made you happy then, hun." He grinned

Gabriel nodded, smiling. He held the child tighter. He was a little worried about that bruise though.

So was Calvin. He had his suspicions but he was waiting until he was certain...
"You manage to get him to say where that bruise really came from?"

I....I didn't feel like I should ask, Im just his daddy's friend. Im not really anything to him.
He shrugged.

"Oh thats fine. Just checking. He seemed to like you, I don't know if he would have said something." He shrugged.

Ill ask him later. It must be hard for him going back and forth.
Gabriel had taken a liking to the boy.

"He hates it. He tries to set me up with just about every guy or girl we meet. Its cute, really. Be ready for it." He chuckled.

Gabriel shook his head
He wont want his father with someone like me. Will he live with you?

"Hun, he dont think theres anything wrong with you." He sighed. "He lives at my place for a week and then saturday I gotta go give him back to his biological mother."

"Unless I can find him a stable momma or a reason that he aint safe with her. And if she finds a better daddy than me before I find a momma, then my baby boy stays with her..." He sighed. "And no, he doesn't judge. He likes you. If he didn't, he wouldnt' be cuddlin with ya."

Gabriel played with Steven's hair.
I think....she hurts him....that bruise he did not get my falling. I know. I have been hit before and I have fallen...thats not from a fall.

"I think so too Gabe... I got no proof but if he's got a bruise next time, I'm checking it out. If she is hurting my baby boy I will murder her ass..."

Gabriel sighed, turning over and tentatively pressing close to Calvin.
He worried....
