When Crickets Cry...

"I dunno..." Zac knew Higgy had changed but he still wasn't sure... "Lemme see if I can set him up with an old friend of mine..."

Colbie nodded.
"Okay."
Aaron shook his head. "Im still here you know."

"I know." He smiled. "Imma go see if i still have his number. He's seventeen. A bit younger than you but he's cute." He nodded, grinning.

"Awwww no!!" Aaron shook his head. "No blind dates!"

"Yupp! I found his number!" Zac giggled as he called him.
"It's Zac!"
"McGuire."
"I know right?"
"Well, I called for a reason."
A laugh.
"We're looking to find my stepson a boyfriend. He's hot. Well, as a mom I can't really say that but sure..."
"Hmm... hold on. I'll call right back."
Zac hung up and snapped a picture of Aaron, sending it to his friend.

Aaron growled at him.
'Stop it!!" He stood and stomped out of the room, the door slammed behind him.

Zac frowned.
"Aaron get your butt back here!" He whined as his friend called him back. "Kyndal... one more thing. He's got a bit of a temper..." He chuckled.
"So what do ya think?"
"Mhm. He's nineteen."
"Well yeah..."
"His daddy is in his hundreds..."
"I know. I'm weird like that."
"Anyway I dunno if I can get Aaron to go along with the date but... I miss you anyways."

Aaron ignored him, locking his door and stomping around in his room.
He didnt wanna do this...

"Call me back in.... like an hour, kay? Imma go see if he's having a fit."
"Buh bye."
He knocked on Aaron's door.

"Go the fuck away!!!" He also shared his fathers temper. His mothers too and that made him very easy to piss off and very mean when he was pissed off.

"Baby please let me in!" Zac sighed. "I'm sorry! I'll cancel it!"

"Dont fucking bother me right now!!" He sat on his bed and put his head in his hands, growling to himself.

Zac sighed and plopped down on the floor outside of Aaron's room.

Aaron laid down and refused to come out of his room. Colbie was laughing her ass off.

"Whats so funny Colbie?" Zac smirked at her.

"He is pitching a fit because of you and your friend momma. Leave him alone." She rolled her eyed.

"I am for now. Imma just sit out here." He shrugged

"He will so hit you with the door when he comes out and then he will be pissed off again." She nodded, she knew him.

Zac moved a few feet away from the door so it wouldn't hit him.
"Problem solved." He smiled

"Momma...Your just going to piss him off. Leave him alone. He is like daddy, he wont want your help. He wants to be alone without you pestering him." She put her hands on her hips.
Jen never bothered him.

Zac sighed. He didn't like being told what to do by his own children but he reluctantly stood and moved over to the couch.
"Happy?"

"Momma, im just telling you so he dont yell at you. He is like daddy." She shrugged. Aaron did have a loud voice when pissed off like he was right now.

"I know he is." zac nodded. "But I dealt with your daddy. I can handle it." He shrugged.

"Daddy hit you once, and didnt mean it. Aaron can do worse to you and not care because you, in his eyes, deserve it." She nodded to him.

Zac shrugged again but sighed.
Nothing could hurt him worse than the hole in his heart right now.
