War On The Heart

Zac gasped.
"Oh... thank you so much..."

"I dont know how but he managed to get them to me so I could give them to you." Quincy smiled softly.

Zac kissed them both and put one on each hand.
"Thank you..." He repeated.

"Welcome and I also have this but im not sure what it is really, looks like a necklace but its so small." He shrugged and handed it to Zac. It was a small golden chain Rick and Kevin had bought for Jr on his second birthday....

Zac recognized it immediately.
"Mom and dad bought it for Jr...."

"Oh well look here, you got something that belong to them all." Quincy smiled softly.

Zac nodded kissing the locket and putting it on.

"Well now, im so tired." After ward he had helped pile the bodies, making sure to bury Kevin somewhere special.

"So am I." Zac nodded. He was constantly tired but he was an insomniac..

"Wanna cuddle until dinner?" Quincy smiled at him, laying down and yawning.

"Sure." Zac smiled softly and laid down beside him.

Quincy pulled him close, sighing softly.
"Im ready for this all to be over."

Zac nuzzled his neck.
"Believe me, I am too." He murmured.

"Oh poor baby." Quincy sighed, he hated this for that small boy.

"So... have you figured out why you saved me yet?" He asked curiously.

"Because you were small and scared and I looked in your eyes...I couldnt leave you alone to be killed." Quincy sighed.

Zac hummed to himself. He didn't know what was so different about him... everyone was terrified... He must have gotten lucky...

"You were special, something about you made me want to protect you at any cost." Quincy sighed.

"Well... I'm glad it was you who found me then...." He sighed.

"Course you are, if anyone else had they would have taken you to be killed." Quincy frowned.

"Exactly... you... you have a soul." He nodded

Quincy nodded with a small smile.
"Yes....I have a soul."

Zac smiled back shyly.
"If theres anything you ever need... anything I can do for you... let me know... I might be weak but I'll help you anyway I can, ever. You saved my life."

"Zac, there is no guarantee I wont be caught....if im caught we would both be killed Zac so your not saved yet but im trying..." Quincy sighed.

"Well.. for the moment you've saved my life. You've given me food and shelter, let me bathe... this may not seem much to you but just these little things are luxuries to me. And... you're risking your life for me. What I just said still stands, even if my safety isn't guarenteed."
