I Dream Of Death

"I gotta? I wasn't his husband for twenty five years." Critter looked at Alex like he was insane. "Hell he might want to beat me up."

Alex sighed and walked up to Mike.
"hey..." He said awkwardly.

Mike glanced a him and kept walking. He had nothing to say to Alex. Not a damn thing.

Alex sighed, looking bakc at Critter as if to say 'how the hell am i supposed to ask that?'

Critter rolled his eyes and came up on Mike's other side.
"Mikey, he misses you. I miss you. We both miss you."
He took Mike's hand. "Please talk to us."

Mike sighed as Critter took his hand.
"What is there to talk about Lane."

Critter smiled, he had gotten a response.
"He loves us both. I love him, and you love him. I love you, I used to have a crush on you and im sure I can get it back and even love you to. We.....We want you to be with us....."

Mike stared at them incredulously.

ALex simply looked at Mike expectantly, waiting for an answer. What if he rejected the idea?

"I-I....." Mike stuttered. "You mean like the three of us? Together?"
He looked at Alex. Critter took Alex's hand too.

"We love you Mikey, please love us too."
Critter pleaded, he knew Mike loved them, just wasn't sure about his reaction to this.

All Alex could get out was a nod and a small 'please' it was the weakest noise he'd ever made in front of Mike.

Mike just looked at them.
"Why? It wouldn't be fair, he loves you more Lane..." Mike reasoned softly, his heart aching.

Alex stayed quiet, he reached out and took Mike's hand looking up at Lane. He was so much better at talking to Mike right now.

Lane paused. "Alex baby, only you know what to say to that. Only you can say who you love and how much Boo."

"I love both of you so much..." Alex murmured. It was true. He loved them both.

"B-But you love him more." Mike stared at Alex with his baby blue eyes that used to be so bright and hold so much like and happiness. Now they were dull and blank.

"But I can't live without you any longer Mike..." Alex sighed. "Now that you're here again I remember how much I need and love you... Seeing Daffy with you.... I'm sorry Mike." Alex sighed. He knew how it felt when Mike saw him with Critter now. But Mike had actually watched them make love. That had to be torture.

"We're not living Alex.....And I know what its like to watch someone you love with someone else....."
He did see Critter and Alex make love and he tried to be happy but that was one of the first of many realizations that Alex was done with him.
"I don't want to be the third wheel..."

"You won't be Mike. You never will be." Alex said quietly.

"How is that? You love him more than me and he loves you more than me. Im automatically the weird one out...."

"But we both love you Mike. I'm sure the second I kiss you again I'll be right back to before. I'll love you both the same."

Mike looked at Lane and Lane grinned. "Well then kiss him Alex."
He gave Mike a gentle push towards his husband.

Alex gave a small smile and kissed Mike softly, wrapping his arms around Mike's neck.

Mike kissed Alex back, his eyes filling with tears. He had missed this so much. Lane watched for a moment before wrapping them both in a hug.

"Hmm... c'mere." Alex grabbed Lane with one hand and Mike with the other. He walked backwards a few feet until he could see Daffy and Sarah still sitting there.
"Yo Daffy!" He called. Once Daffy was looking he kissed Mike, flipping Daffy off over his shoulder.
"Sorry baby I had to do that." He kissed Mike again. Just because he wanted to, not to make Daffy jealous this time.

Lane laughed a his husband as Mike sighed and hugged him. It had been to long since he had been able to feel his lovers lips against his.

"I miss this baby." Alex whispered, hugging Mike tightly.

"M-Me too." Mike whimpered as he buried his head into Alex's chest.
Critter smiled and joined them, taking them both in his arms.
