When Crickets Cry...

Quinton came back and watched with a sigh, sitting beside him.
"He will be alright..."

"I know its just..." He bit his lip but it was useless trying to stop the tears now. "I'm far from perfect... Im a bad lover, I know... but... I never hurt him physically... I'd never purposely try and hurt him... she's so... insane and he loves her... it..." It killed him... He tried his hardest to be the best lover he could and Quincy left him. Jennifer murders him and his kids and he stays with her...

Quinton shook his head.
"Zac...He does not love her. He is with her....because he thinks he is a monster, he knows she is a monster, why not? As long as his 'precious' got a better lover for himself...Zac he wanted someone for you...like that guy over there." He nodded to Mark. "He does not love Jennifer...He hates her with all he has....When he thinks of her he wants to puke, he even wrote a song for it. But this way she wont hurt anyone but him..."

Zac cried harder.
"She can't hurt him...." He whispered. She couldn't hurt his Quincy....

Quinton wrapped an arm around him.
"She has done it since the day Momma introduced them...."

"But.... that was before I knew him... I can't let her hurt him..." He trembled.

"Your going to hurt him too...."
Quinton was not stupid, he wouldnt want his kids around the bitch either.

"How...?" Zac whispered, still stroking Quincy's wet, bloody hair.

"Your taking his babies away...He wont have anything but her....what then?"
It wouldnt be pretty.

"Quinton... you know she killed their children. I won't have her hurting mine. I'll give him a choice. Her OR the kids. It's his decision...."

"Zac...he wont let her hurt those babies. He was gone when they were alive...he had to be...he is here now...he wont let you have them without a fight."

"Then I'll fight. I won't have my babies around her...." He couldn't believe Quincy would choose Jennifer over his own children.

"Zac...he loves those babies...but Jennifer might could find the ones she murdered...he wants all his babies....he needs to find them..."

"Fine then. I hope he has a happy life with the psychopath and those other babies.... cause I'm taking mine back."
That stung him... Quincy was willing to give up Zac's children to find Jennifer's... but as always he covered it with his bitter comments.

Quinton gave him a look.
"You listen to me. Those are his BABIES, he wants them back. Besides, you wont let him see his babies, he cant take you back, why not give some other kids a chance. You know what its like for your mother to kill you? At least Rick didnt have to see Sydney break your skull or drown you...Didnt have to sit up with you and hear you cry...did have to know it was his fault for leaving her alone with the kids."

Zac didn't respond. He kissed Quincy's temple, silently sitting there, tears still streaming down his face.

Hours later Quincy's hand slowly rose to rest over the cut on his neck, his eyes fluttering open.
"The hell?"

Zac's heart constricted painfully, knowing he had to let go now...
"Hi ba- Quincy.." He let go with a sigh.

Quincy looked at him, giving something relative to a whimper as he was let go.
"Where did that fucking bitch go?" He looked around.

"Up in... your room I guess." Zac spoke softly, longingly watching his ex lover.

Quincy looked at him, sighing and pulling Zac to his chest.
He fucking misses his lover so much...it fucking hurt worse then anything she could ever do.

Zac hugged him close, eyes clenched shut tightly.
He needed his Quincy...

"I miss you so much Precious."
He had yet to see Mark...

"I miss you too Quincy.... you'll never know..." He hung his head and turned, spotting Mark by the door. "Oh hell. I'm so sorry. You've been there the whole time haven't you?"
Mark smiled softly, nodding.
"And I've ignored you. Sorry, I forgot about you."
"Gee thanks." Mark rolled his eyes as he hugged Zac lightly.

Quincy paused, realizing the smell on Zac...
Sex, that man, and alcohol.
His heart broke but he put on a smile.
He would be good to Zac...
