Misfit

Mike felt bad now. He felt worthless, he was a bad friend. He sighed and sat on the seat, he couldn't go to class but he needed to.

Drew barely paid any attention during the rest of his classes. He was trying to figure out what he had done wrong. One moment they were laughing, the next Mike was gone.

Mike had heard some of the meaner boys bad mouthing Drew, for some unexplainable reason he said something and wouldn't you know it? They ganged up on him. They beat the shit out of him before leaving to ruin some childs dreams, leving Mike alone on the hallways floor. He soon got up and went back to the bath room, hiding once more in his stall.

Last period was almost over. In a few minutes it'd be time to get on the buses.
He still hadn't seen Mike.
He got permission and went to the bathroom again.
"Mike, you have to come out eventually." Drew sighed.

Mike had been looking in the mirror at his black eye and split lip. When he heard Drew he pulled his baby blue hoodie up to hide his face before walking out. "I know, but I wasn't really hiding...."

"No hoods up remember? I can't have mine, you can't have yours either." Drew smirked and slid down Mike's hood. He gasped when he saw his blackened eye and split lip.
"Wh-what happened?"

"I got into a fight, no big deal." He shrugged, he wouldn't say he got held down and beat by three boys or that it was because he was defending Drew.

"It is a big deal. Who did it?" He asked. He might have been a bit nerdy but he was very muscular for his age.

"Its fine Drew, those boys arebad news...Don't fuck with them." He didn't want Drew gettiung hurt to.

"Who. Was it?" Drew said firmly. "I can defend myself Mike."

Mike shugged ad brushed past him. "He was not going to tell Drew and let Drew get hurt.

Drew grumbled. He wanted to know.
His question was answered when a group of boys passed them in the hall.
"Ya learn your lesson Mike?" One of them said. The others laughed.

Mike grit his teeth. "Fuck you Levi." He spat as he turned to sneer at the group of boys.

Drew rose to his full height, nostrils flaring.
"Oh you think you're so bad. Well guess what this is America. We do things a bit differently here than what youre used to." The boy named Levi said, in a horrible impression of Drew's accent.
"Bad move. I might be from Scotland but I'm pretty sure you throw a punch the same in every country." Drew smirked, quickly throwing a right hook, connecting with the boy's jaw. The other two tried to get him from behind but he elbowed one in the gut and kicked the other in the crotch. His father had taught him how to defend himself when he was very young.

Mike just stared, he didn't know what to say and now he was emabaressed, Drew beat them like it was nothing and they beat the shit out of Mike. Mike once again started walking.

"Now I suggest ya don't touch me or Mike again." Drew growled then jogged to catch up with Mike.

Mike was on his way home, he walked to his house whic was six miles away from the school. His parents didn't care to drive him orfill out the bus info. Mike had no bike and he didn't hve money for a car. He ran to kee away from Drew.

"Whatever." Drew said to himself. Going through school without friends wouldn't be too bad. He'd always been a loner. He felt someone's eyes on him. He looked up and met a pair of brown eyes a few feet away. She looked away when he met her gaze. She peeked back a few seconds later and blushed when she saw he was still looking. He simply ignore the gesture and went on his way home.

Mike got home, got yelled at, went to bed, dreading school tomarrow.

Drew went home, he was greeted by his mother asking eagerly: 'How was school sweety?"
"Fine." He grumbled.
She frowned and picked up his hand, examining it carefully.
"Drew why is there blood on your knuckles?"
"I don't know..."
"Drew you can't be getting into fights. That's why we moved last time." She sighed. "Andy! I told you it was a bad idea to teach him this stuff." She yelled to Drew's father.
He rolled his eyes.
"Ya wanna practice some more son?"
Drew nodded. He had a feeling he'd need it for tomorrow.
"Or just ignore me. That's fine." His mother rolled her eyes.
They practiced for a while and Drew went to sleep early.

The next day before the bell rang Savannah to Mike and made sure he was with them instead of that looser scottish boy.

Drew was the first one in the classroom the next morning. He sat in the back again. It was Mike's choice where he sat. He was done being a clingy little puppy.

Mike sat in his normal seat, it was asigned. He twitchd nervously as class started.

Drew didn't know Mike's seat was assigned so he had false hope when Mike sat beside him.

Mike knew he had a crush on Drew and he knew his feeling weren't retured but he wanted to be his friend still.
