How You Remind Me

Critter sighed, he wasn't allowed to be the weak one. Not even for one night and that would have to be okay. He let go of Alex and gathered his clothes, walking back up to the house, drying, and putting on new clothes.

Alex sighed and followed.
"Baby, don't let this ruin our night."

"Its not, im just tired is all." He smiled. He really was tired, it was all catching up to him. He laid one the bed and curled up, his eyes closing.

"Love you." Alex whispered, lying down next to him.

Critter turned over and snuggled into Mike's arms. He had never been a clingy person but he had his moments and now was one of them. He did things with Alex he had never done with anyone else. Like cry and cuddle. He was free to be him and do certain things.

Alex held Critter tight. He looked at his bare back and frowned at the huge scar there.

Critter shivered, some scars were sensitive, they felt odd when touched or when cold or hot anything touched them. "Watcha looking at?"

"The scar that should be on my back." He frowned, that still bothered him.

Critter laughed. "I like that one. That ones yours." It seemed he had a scar on his body for everyone. Other than that he had been to war, been tortured, been beaten, Critter had just been through so much.

"I hate it." Alex frowned, gently outlining it with hs finger.

"Nah, that one reminds me that you are alive when you could have so easily been lost."

Alex couldn't help the smile.
"I love you so much y'know that."He grinned.

"Yeah, I know that."
He really did if he loved him more than Mikey.
That scar hurt when it got cold, it burned.

"You alright?" Alex frowned as He felt hislover's shoulders tense up.

"Im cold, that certain scar....it burns when it gets cold." Critter murmured as he snuggled closer.

"My poor baby." Alex cooed, placing a light kiss on the scar he held Critter closer.

"Yeah......" Critter sighed and sat up, it was his job to be comforting his lover. He just felt strange....not normal.

"lay back down." Alex whined. "I want to cuddle." He pouted.

Critter sighed and pulled Alex to his chest. It was way to damn cold in this fucking house.

Alex smiled up at his fiance. God... Critter was his fiance. He beamed as he looked down at the ring on his finger. He never thought he could be happy as the bottom in a relationship but he was. He'd found that he liked being able to be the weak one at times. He and Critter's relationship was pretty equal for the most part.

And the relationship was equal...for the most part. Critter had yet to bottom and he always had to be the strong one even if it wasn't needed. He just felt like it was his burden to bare.

"I love you." Alex said, twirling the ring. He couldn't say those words enough. "So much Lane."

Critter grinned and kissed his fiance. "I love you to Alex.....more than I ever thought I would be able to love someone." Especially after Sarah, he hadn't thought he would love again and never so much but he did, he loved Alex more then he did Sarah and he was happy with it.

This whole moment was just perfect. Everything. Btu then Alex's thoughts had to go and ruin it. All he could think of was his son who had never came back. He was serious about leaving. And Mike... Mike never came back either.

Critter felt the change in mood and he knew, he just knew what Alex was thinking about and he couldn't say it was okay because it wasn't. He just held Alex closer, insuring his comfort.
