How You Remind Me

Every once in a while Alex would wonder if he made the right choice in picking Critter. But all he had to do was look into his eyes and he knew he had.
"Lane..." Alex started, he needed to get one of his worst fears out in the open.

"Yes Boo?" He looked down at the love of his life. He had loved Sarah but he loved Alex more and if he could do it over and have Alex when they were younger he would have.

"What's gonna happen when we die? When you get up there and see Sarah again..." He trailed off, hoping Critter saw what he was hinting at.

"You think.....I would leave you if we died and I had the chance to have her back?"
Critter shook his head.
"I loved her, but I love you more than I have ever loved anything so there is no way I would be able to do that....I love you to much."

Alex nodded slowly.
"But what if you're just forgetting how you felt about her since it was so long ago...?" Alex asked softly.

"Alex baby, this is me. I don't do that. I love Sarah just as much as I did when she was here. But I love you more, way more." He shook his head. "I know how I feel."

Alex nodded. He believed him. He didn't want to think about if he was lying...

Critter sighed. "You don't believe me, your scared....What can I do to make you believe? Want me to go to her grave and tell her in front of you?" He had already done it but not infront of Alex.

"No darlin. I believe you..." He sighed. "I'm just scared." He'd given up everything to be with Lane. His son, Mike, some of Sydney's trust... He didn't know what he'd do if he went back to Sarah. He knew mike would never take him back.

Critter sighed and got up, hissing as the cold air stung his back. "Get dressed." He ordered, if he had to go tell Sarah he would.

"Baby it's fine. You don't have to." Alex said, grabbing Critter's hand.

Critter wrapped his hand around Alex's and tugged him out of bed. Critter got dressed and dressed Alex before picking his lover up and putting him in the truck, then he continued to get in himself and drive to the grave yard.

Alex shook his head.
"Darlin I mean it. You don't have to do this."

Critter paid him no mind as he parked the truck and got out, pulling Alex with him and leading him over to Sarah's grave.

Alex sighed. He was getting no where with him.
He simply waited.

Critter slowly raised Alex hand in the air. "Sarah I love him!"
He said it loud and it was very clear.
"I know you have never done this but Im asking and i'll even beg for you to let us talk to you. If only for a minute, like Mike did."
Minutes passed and nothing happened.
"Sarah please, if you love me you will...."
A figure appeared sitting stop the head stone. A very beautiful women, looked to be about twenty or twenty five.

"Chrissy, baby." She started, glaring at Alex before a smile claimed her features as she hopped off the stone. She gestured to Alex. "Critter baby, I love you and all but I gotta say......He is not that pretty." She smiled jokingly as Critter stepped forward and hugged her to his chest.
She giggled. "I miss you."
"Miss you too."
" I love you." She kissed his cheek."
"I love you too."
He stepped back. "But you know what I came here for." He pulled Alex to him.
Sarah nodded. "You love me but you love him more."
"Yes."
She nodded okay. "Okay, I didn't expect you not too baby. You already said you did."
She extended her hand to Alex. "Hello, Im Sarah McCormick."

"Alex Riley." He nodded, shaking her hand. He wondered why Mike couldn't have taken it this well...

She laughed. "Critter always told me he would be okay. He is." She nodded. "But if you hurt him I will haunt you for the rest of your life."

"Wouldn't dream of hurting him." Alex said honestly. He didn't think he could if he wanted to.

"Okay." She kissed Alex's cheek.
"I heard about MY ring, the truck and the wallet. Daffy was pissed and what did yall do to Mike?"
Her hands went to her hips. "He came up here and I didn't know what was wrong. Daffy was picking at him, playing with his head, taunting him and they both just sort of disappeared. "

Alex looked down at his feet.
"Mike didn't take this as well as you are. He won't speak to me anymore."

"Well I didn't expect him to. I think he is at his stone but I dont know, I haven't seen him. Daffy comes around and grumbles about him being a heart broken bitch cow o-Ahhhhhhhhhh!" She squealed and jumped as Daffy screamed in her ear.
Yes, Daffy was there and he was laughing his ass off.

"Oh great. Daffy's here." Alex thought to himself sarcastically.

"I don't like you either fuck face." Daffy growled, his face sour.
"Daffy..." Critter warned.
"Sorry Lanie but it just so happens im a spirit or ghost or whatever and you can't touch me."

"Huh, I haven't missed you at all." Alex rolled his eyes.
