Husky leaned his head back against the wall.
He doesn't want you... he'd rather be abused than have you... so quit hoping...
The voice in his head whispered.

Joe cooed to their baby, his eyes bright with love for the small child in his arms.
"Windham....Thank you for coming..."

"Wouldn't miss it for the world." He smiled softly, trying to ignore the voice.

Kofi walked back in and leaned against the wall.
"Joe, they are letting you go home. They want to get the baby ready and you need to rest while they do that." Kofi explained calmly as he walked over and gently picked the baby up, cradling it in his arms before rocking it a moment and taking it back to the nurses.

Husky glared as Kofi held HIS child... god, this was not going to be easy.

Joe took his hand and kissed it.
"It'll be okay....I promise you he wont hurt it."

"I never thought he'd hurt you either..." Husky looked down.

"I swear, he might hurt me but not the baby, not an innocent child. I deserve it I guess...I deserve whatever he's gonna do. The baby is safe."

"Stop that shit. You do not deserve it! You deserve to be loved. You deserve a man who will treat you well, not an abusive boyfriend!"

Joe shook his head. He had cheated on Kofi, before that he would never have done this, it was just something about Husky and Joe together that made him crazy enough to hurt Joe.
"I cheated on him....."

"Yes and that is wrong. But he still should not hit you. No one deserves to be hit by their so called lover. I don't care what they did. Especially not someone as wonderful as you."

Joe's heart ached, he wanted so desperately to tell Husky that he loved him and he wanted to be with him because he did. "Husky.....I am waiting for him to hurt me, I want him too because when he does....im gone and I want to go to your room.....And be your lover..."

"Joe..." Husky frowned. "I... you have no idea how much I want that. How much I need that. But I cannot let him hurt you again..."

"Just....deal with it, one more time is all and it'll probably be as soon as we get home...Husky, if he doesn't then I have to stay. He is going to hurt me, I hope it is not tonight. I have just been cut open and sewn up, but when he fucking does....Im gone.."
Joe was scared, you could see it on his face, he was fucking terrified.

"Joe... you've just been cut open." Husky sighed.

"I know....."
He bit his lip and rubbed his jaw. Kofi was going to kill him.

Husky sighed and closed his eyes.
"I-I can't stand by knowing he's hurting you..."

"Maybe he wont."
But he would and they both knew it.

Two years had passed and Joe was still with Kofi. Tristan was actually in a committed relationship, to everyone's surprise, and Husky was still alone...
Brianna was currently with her biological father for the week.

Joe was not doing so well. Kofi hit him often now, it was frequent. Joe had been going to leave but Kofi had threatened him, threated to kill him if he tried. Joe couldn't risk it, risk leaving his baby alone without a mother. Actually today he was in the hospital. Kofi had really flown off the handle the other night so thats where Joe was, alone in a hospital room.

Brianna could speak rather fluently. She was only two but smarter than most children her age. Of course her speech wasn't perfect but it was very impressive for a two year old.
"Daddy!" She exclaimed. Kofi had just stopped by to drop her off. She ran into her father's arms.
He grinned.
"So, what happened last week?" He smiled. Now that she could talk she'd been giving him the details of the following week she'd spent with Joe and Kofi.
"Well, Mommy said something bout you. I don't framember..." She shrugged. "But Kofi didn't like it." She shook her head.
Husky loved how his daughter didn't call Kofi dad or even father.
"Go on baby."
"Well momma said sorry but Kofi got really angry and he made me leave the room..."
Husky gritted his teeth.
"Well did you hear anything?"
"Momma screamed... and when I came back in Momma wasn't there... Kofi said he had to go somewhere and he called Brian over to watch me for a bit. Then he didn't bring Momma back..." She said softly.

No, Joe was in ICU today. Kofi had come by to let him know that Brianna was safe and with her father and that was all before he left Joe there alone. Joe's face....after Kofi was done he didn't even look like Joe anymore. His lip was split in two places, his eye black and swollen shut. A nice cut on his temple and one across his nose which was not broken, alone with his jaw for the second time. Around his neck were black and blue hand prints, left from when Kofi had tried to choke him. His chest and abdomen were covered in discolored, painful looking bruises. His arms were bruised, one was broken at the forearm, he had more hand prints on his upper arms from where Kofi had grabbed him and shook him. Kofi had knocked out two of Joe's front teeth. Joe's back was covered in the same bruises with some angry, red whelps thrown in. He looked like he had he had been nearly beaten to death.

"Tristan, watch Bri for a bit?" Husky asked as he carried Brianna to Tristan who had been listening fr a while.
"Of course." He smiled.
"Hey Brianna, can ya stay with Uncle Tristan for a bit? I'm gonna go see if I can find momma."
She smiled eagerly and jumped on Tristan who laughed.
Husky told her he loved her before driving over to Joe and Kofi's place.
He barged in without knocking.
"Kofi, where the fuck is Joe?"

Kofi glanced up at him and shrugged.
"Im not sure, he left."

"Bullshit Kofi. I want to know and I want to know now." Husky knew most people would consider it foolish to take a two year old's story more seriously than an adult's. But no way in hell was he believing Kofi.
