Momma's Song.

Mike sat, leaned against his tomb stone, watching Aaron play. He was not happy, he didn't like Quincy like that but he had grown to love his baby but that was only because it was his. He didn't see Quincy much, only when they were passing Aaron back and forth. Mike usually hung around here or at his hospital room. It was a lonely existence, he only saw Daffy who would come find him just to spend time with him. He asked about Alex, how he was doing and what not. Daffy was good at keeping up with it for him. Mike watched out for his babies still. So Mike was miserable, but god for him at least Daffy was around, Misery does love its company.

Sydney giggled as Rick chased her into the cemetery. They'd begun dating a while ago and she was pretty sure she loved him. Which was what she was going to tell her mother. She rarely came to visit. She still felt that Mike was upset with her even though everyone told her otherwise. But this was important. After endless lectures to Rick, (since he was Chris's younger brother) about how if he ever hurt Sydney like Chris hurt him, he was dead, Sydney and him had Alex's blessing. Now she needed Mike's. Rick had insisted on it.

Mike rose a brow as he daughter came running into the cemetery giggling. It was rare he ever seen her and he had to wonder why in the fuck was she giggling in this desolate place where dead bodies littered the under ground.

She elbowed Rick gently so he'd stop tickling her. She didn't want to be rude.
Rick reluctantly stopped.
"I'll get ya later." He smirked. She shook her head and rolled her eyes as she grabbed the bouquet of flowers from him and walked up to her mother's grave.
"Momma, you there?"

Mike made the outline of himself visible, his arms crossed as he looked at his daughter.
"Yeah, im here."

Sydney smiled at her mother while Rick scanned him over. The man looked nice. But bitter. He'd heard the whole story of Alex, Mike, Critter, Quincy, all of it. But never could he imagine how it effected the man.
"I brought you flowers. Well he did." She pointed at Rick with a smile, her eyes practically had hearts in them.

Mike cocked his head to the side, his eyes looking the man over.
"Well thank you....and you are?"
Mike knew who he was but this man was going to be taking care of his baby girl for the rest of her life and he was going to make sure he was right.

"Rick. Rick McGuire, sir." Rick gave a small smile. "I'm your daughter's boyfriend." He punctuated this by wrapping an arm around Sydney's waist.

Mike wore a frown.
"McGuire huh?"
He really had become quiet bitter, he hated for his daughter to see it."

Sydney frowned. She didn't want Mike to judge Rick by his brother.
"Yes sir, but I am absolutely NOTHING like my brother. Alex and I have been over this." He intertwined his fingers with Sydney's.

"I figured that." Mike's glare stayed though.
"Not to be rude, but what do you want? And I know good and damn well you want something because she is my daughter and she does not come to just visit, you have motive." Mike's glare wavered only a second as Aaron ran up to give him a flower. Mike took it and smiled to his baby.
"Thank you Aaron, but whats this for?"
"Its for you because I love you." Aaron grinned and hugged his mother around the waist before looking at the couple.
"Mommy?"
"That your half sister and her boyfriend."
Aaron grinned innocently.
"Hi!"

Sydney's lips pursed. She did NOT like Aaron. She'd never met him but she knew he was Mike and Quincy's child. She hated him almost as much as her father... ALMOST.
"Hi." She tried to fake a smile for Mike's sake.
"I want your blessing to be with your daughter."

Mike glared at his daughter. She would be nice, or he would tell how it was and how it was going to be. "You want my blessing?" Mike turned his gaze to Rick. Aaron look up at his mother curiously.
"Whats that? Can I see it." Mike laughed and ruffled his baby's hair. "Nope, now mommy is busy." Aaron pouted. "But I wanna stay and spend time with sissy." He beamed at Sydney.

Sydney closed her eyes and clenched her fists. She took a deep breath before opening them again.
"Hey Aaron, I wanna spend time with you too buddy. But I gotta talk to my momma for a minute." She gave a painfully fake smile, purposely saying MY momma.

Mike shook his head and picked Aaron up.
"Aaron baby, mommy is sorry but im not leaving you alone with her, or Alex Jr and definitely not Alex, Im sorry." Aaron looked upset, his bottom lip jutting out as he cocked his head to the side.
"W-Why? What did I do?"
Mike looked pained.
"No baby...."
Mike glared at the couple.
"Bless you, now leave."
It was harsh but its not like they came because they wanted to visit.

Sydney looked hurt. More hurt than Rick had ever seen her.
"Mike, can I talk to my soon to be brother in law?" He grinned politely. "I think Sydney wants to speak to you."
Sydney looked away but nodded.

Mike sat Aaron down and told him to stay before walking over to Rick and pulling him of to the side.
'I know you'll d good by her. And im going to trust you to take care of him if I let you watch him while we talk. I cant trust my family with him. Not Sydney, not Alex Jr, I sure as hell cant trust Alex with him. You have my blessing, you take care if my little girl because I love her so much, you just dont know. And I have lost everything, I dont even have much of a family but I still love them, I always will. You take care of her and have Alex Jr's back."

Rick nodded.
"I know Syd. Not as well as you obviously. But she cares about you so much and I haven't been informed of exactly why but she seems to think you hate her. That's why she hasn't visited and it's killing her. I really want her to fix things with you and she knows this. I think she's going to try but please, I know I just met you but please try and hear her out."

Mike hummed before tuning back and ruffling Aaron's hair.
"Okay squirt. Go show Rick how to play power rangers."
Aaron grinned and hugged his mother before running of to Rick.

Rick chuckled. The little boy was so hyper.
Sydney sighed at her mother.
"I love you momma... I really do."

Mike stepped up to her.
"Well, you, your brother and your father have very fucked up ways of showing that." Mike sighed and shook his head.
"Im a bitter old cow, ignore me."

Sydney's eyes filled with tears.
"I CANT. I can't ignore you you're my mother damnit. I can't ignore the fact that you hate me. And daddy and Alex."

Mike frowned at her.
"Child, where in the hell do you get off speaking to me like that. You don't know what im dealing with. You don't know that I watch you, I look over you and your brother like your guardian angel. And your father, Sydney you don't go there with me. Your father...." Mike wasn't even going to finish it. "I love all three of you, and the only one that seems to give a fuck about me is your brother!"

Sydney froze.
"Momma. I would slap you if you were not transparent." And she would have. "I know that is disrespectful but I care about you mroe than life. And daddy, he loves you so much. Just because he..." She didn't want to finish it. "He still loves you. So stop acting like he doesn't."

"Sydney, I have a feeling, you would regret hitting me after I busted your ass for it. Maybe your father and your brother have done it does not mean in to far gone to knock the fuck out of you." Mike focused and made himself touchable for a mere second.
"Your a big girl. Hit me, hit your mother"
