Momma's Song.

"Alex, ill go get him and tell him to come talk to you. He didn't make it, he was our first baby. You two just had a fight, knowing him he is upset....He is probably thinking he is not welcome to come around here. You never knew him, never really spoke to him...but you mean so much."

"You don't have to right now Mike. It's fine." Alex gave a small smile. "He just made Sydney cry the worst I'd seen her cry in a while."

"So your mad at him? He don't mean it, he is just sticking up for his momma, he is always taking care of me."

"No I'm not mad. I just don't like him hurting my daddy's girl. I was just a bit upset with him. And I don't want to force him to come talk to me."

"Alex....if it were Alex Jr you would wanna talk to him. You were having a fit when he wouldn't come home from Daffy's and he had hurt Sydney. She is upset but she is a moody girl and she takes some things to seriously....Kevin is my strong man, he will hurt but he wont say anything. He is so much like you..."

Alex gave a small smile.
"He is isn't he? And Sydney gets her sensitivity from you mister." Alex kissed Mike's cheek with a smile to show he wasn't trying to offend Mike.

Mike stuck his tongue out.
"I know damnit, the last thing the world needs is another me. Mike grinned at Alex. "But I do want you to be close to Kevin, to love him and be a daddy to him. He was hell bent on meeting you and now I dont think he feels like he is welcome to come back or to go to the wedding."

"Of course he is. Sydney really liked him. But you know how she is. Just like her mother, she will hold a grudge for a few weeks. But she'll be over it. And I do want to have a relationship with him. Maybe I should go talk to him."

I Think you should but if you find him upset or if worst to worst crying... I never see him cry unless somethings wrong with me but he was so happy to be able to meet you. But if he is crying...I dont know if you should mess with him. He really hates being weak, he is the strong one...but its like the two people he has wanted to meet since ever are mad at him, dont want anything to do with him.....And he might not be invited...Rick punched him earlier and they started fighting. I had to break them up."

"Rick punched him?" Alex asked incredulously. "God, what'd he say?" Alex had never seen Rick lose his temper, unless he was hit first.

"Rick followed him outside. Kevin was trying to leave well enough alone. Kevin told him to fuck off because Rick was threatening him because n of Sydney. I personally am pissed at him, he followed him outside to get in his face, imma tell you now that if he fucks up again then he will answer to me. Im not as weak as I seem. I wont let my family be hurt by him."

Alex nodded. The other time he'd seen Rick lose his temper was when some dude at a club called Sydney a whore. A small smile claimed Alex's lips.
"Sorry, it's just cute how he cares about my baby..."

"Its not cute at all to me. Your probably going to hate me before its over with because I love my baby, all five of them....Well four now but still, I do love Sydney but she is daddy's girl. Im all Kevin has and ill show Rick a thing or two. But it wont matter much, we are not still married so you wont have to live with me after I do something to piss you off." Mike glared at the house.

"Mike baby, he rarely loses his temper. Don't flip on him. He's a good man and he just loves our baby girl. Don't try and tell me Kevin didn't do anything to set him off. I know Rick, did he warn Kevin before he hit him?"

"Alex, the point is fuck face followed him outside to pick the damn fight. I will not say its not his fault. If Kevin wouldnt have left that was one thing but I will kick his ass over something like this. You can be mad at me if you want to but Rick is wrong on this one and ill sit here and say that because he is fucking with family. I might not be part of this family much anymore but damnit I am the momma."

"Mike, calm down. I'll talk to him. I'm sure he's sorry. Just, chill." Alex sighed.

Mike nodded and looked up to see Critter leaning on the front door frame.
"I think your husband is ready for me to go...."

Alex followed Mike's gaze and smiled at his husband.
"Alright darlin'." He pulled Mike into a hug. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you stayed around..." He looked up at Lane questioningly.

Lane looked a bit troubled but nodded his head.
"That's fine."
Surly Alex wasn't wanting Mike back?

Alex smiled softly.
"Mike, you wanna stay? Or go check on Kevin?"

"Ill stay for a while...." Mike felt like he was intruding even though this was HIS family.

"Go in a while. Sydney's upstairs, so is Rick if you want to say something." Alex stayed outside and wrapped his arms around Lane's neck.
"Somethin wrong?"

Mike watched for a momentary before trying to swallow the tears and backing away. He still couldn't take that, it just hurt, mentally and physically. It burned, made his belly knot up, his eyes water, just fucking hurt.

"Just thinking about you...and him." Lane wrapped his arms around Alex's waist.

Alex frowned.
"Mike baby, go inside please."
He waited until Mike was in the house before pecking Lane's lips and resting his forehead on his husband's.

"Alex...You still love him, when we die...do you think your going to leave me for him?"
Mike was in hearing rage, he was listening, waiting for the answer he knew would come.
