The Hardest Part of Parenthood

"Well then, you gunna be okay? Daffy probed, feeling that Mike would want him t care for this man.

"I don't really know," Jeff said honestly. "Mikey was everything to me."

Daffy hummed, watching Jeff. "Ya know darlin', He loved ya. I used to talk to em' everyday. He always spoke of a man who had claimed his heart, told me how he loved ya', and this was right when you guys got together. Even then he knew he loved you." Daffy smiled. "He would wantcha to be happy."

Jeff nodded slowly. No matter how much it hurt, he had to be strong for Hailey.

"You knoe Jeffery, its okay to cry about it. Your baby's not here and I sure as hell wont judge ya'." Daffy frowned. 'I cried.....I don't usually but seeing Mikey, enerjetic, sweet, loving, warm, Mikey being so still..and cold. I couldn' help it.

"It's just......" Jeff bit his lip as the tears started to flow. "I told him, Hailey told him not to go," Jeff sniffled. "I tried to get him to stay at the house, but he wouldn't have it........if I had tried a little harder.......he might still be here."

"Mike's hardheaded, he wouldn't have stayed if he could have helped it." Daffy shook his head remembering Mike being a stubborn little brat. Daffy walked over to Jeff, tentatively pulling him into a hug, no he didn't know this man but Mike wouldn't want him to feel alone. "Don't blame yourself because Mike was bull-headed."

Jeff slowly nodded again, the only comfort he found was knowing that Mike was up there with his momma and Hailey's, always watching over them........

"Not helpin' much, am I doll." Daffy tilted his head to the side, staring at the body of Mike Mizanin, he kept expecting it to jump up and say "Just Kidding." Or something.

"I haven't lost someone this close to me since I lost my momma....." Jeff sniffled.

"Well...Michael was special, always has been...Always will be." Daffy sighed and took Jeff's hand. "You wanna say goodbye to em'; because when I leave I need to lock up."

Jeff nodded slowly and walked over to where Mike's body lay. It broke Jeff's heart to see Mike so still, so pale and cold. "Oh Mikey......." Jeff said softly. "Why'd you have to leave me darlin?" Jeff asked. "I don't know how I'm gonna go on without you next to me," "Poor Hailey's real upset baby, she misses you you like crazy, but she knows her momma and mine will take good care of you," Jeff sniffled. "I always called you my angel, I guess you really are now baby, and I hope you know that I love you, I will always love you........"

Daffy Sighed, waiting at the door. Mike had done a real put up job of hurting that poor man. Daffy felt his heartbreak, that poor man.

Jeff took one last glance back at Mike before he walked out the door,his head hung low, his heart heavy with grief.
