Somewhere With You

"And Mike, you don't know what its like on our side. If it was switched you would both be doing what we are so I don't really see how this is fair." Alex frowned.
Rick simply continued squirming.

"Its not fair because you are making him feel like shit. And I wont stand for it." Mike took Kevin by the arm and pulled him away from Alex.
"I dont want this either but I wont have you or Rick guilting him into it."

Rick stood and walked out.
"I'm going back to Daffy's! Come get me if you need me!" He screamed, still crying as he walked away.

Mike shook his head as Kevin looked at him with a lost stare.
He was alone.
He let out an small sob and waddled to his room as fast as he could.

Alex followed Kevin up to his room with a sigh.
"Kevin baby, it's alright. He's coming back."

"He is g-gone....I p-pushed him away! Im going to be alone when I have this b-baby." Kevin hid his face in his pillow as Mike followed and hugged Alex from behind.

"No you won't be. He'll be back baby. He's just upset. Trust me baby, you don't know what you're doing to him. I know that feeling."

Kevin sobbed harder.
"Alex. You stop it right now." Mike said sternly. "Your hurting him." He pointed to Kevin.

Alex sighed and hugged his son. He didn't get this at all.... if the places were switched and Mike was begging Alex like Rick had just been begging Kevin, he would have given the child up in a heartbeat....

Mike pulled Alex away and stared at him.
"You listen to me. I know how he feels, he loved Rick more than he ever will this child but...This child is more. This child is his hope that Rick will never leave him for Sydney. He does not think that Rick will leave him if he has his baby but I know better. He doesn't. He wants to have Rick's child....."

"Mike, you don't understand what this feels like though..." ALex shook his head. He felt for Rick, he remembered this.

"And you dont know how we feel. You dont know what its like to be the fucking helpless one, to always have you or Rick standing over us looking like we cant do shit. This time, Kevin is in control, and Rick cant do a damn thing about it and neither can you. I dont want this for Kevin but I wont take it away from him."

"You two are...." Alex shook his head. Ridiculous. Unbelievable. Heartless. None of them were the word he wanted.

"We are?"
They were not Ridiculous for wanting things like a say in what happened every now and then. They were not unbelievable for not liking that their lovers acted like they were helpless children. They were not heartless...In any way.....

"I can't think of a word." Alex simply shook his head. "You just... it's like he doesn't even care. How do you do that? If you begged me like that you know there is no way I could say no."

"Have you noticed he called me or you? He cant take it but he cant let the baby go. Rick wants that baby, you know he does. Kevin wants to give it to him. He cant take it though so he called you or he called me. And Alex, I can do whatever I need to do for my reasons. We both Know I have a heart and we both know I love you more than anything. I was faithful to you even when you were gone. I know what im doing when I do something so if its important for you then I will do anything in your best interest."

"I just... feel for him I do. Ive never seen him cry that much. It's killing him and I know a part of him wants that kid but he's not gonna once he sees how bad it'll hurt Kevin..."

"Alex baby, you got to talk to him. Tell him it will be okay. I will take care of my little boy, my baby. He just needs to worry about his baby." Mike chewed on his lip.

"I can't do that Mike..." He sighed. "Because I know it won't work it will only upset him more. The only thing that will help is Kevin not having that baby, and that isn't going to happen is it?"

"I wish I could say different but no. Its not."
And it didnt. Three months later. Kevin woke up in the middle of the night, a jolt of pain being the reason for that.
It was his first contraction.

Rick had come back. He was still upset. He begged and bawled almost every day.
He was currently sound asleep beside Kevin.

Kevin looked over at him, deciding it was nothing and laying back down when the same pain hit him.
He whimpered and carefully got out of bed. He stepped out of the room, got half way down the stairs and had to hold on to the banister to keep from falling when another pain hit him. He got down the stairs and into his parents room before falling to his knees. "Momma!" He whispered urgently. Mike woke up and looked down at Kevin curiously.
"Baby..."
He knew what was happening. He jumped out of bed and got to Kevin in a heart beat.

Alex was awake too. He looked over at Mike.
"Is he....?"

"Yes Alex baby, he is having contractions. I will need to gather all my thing for this." Mike picked Kevin up and carried him to the couch before going around the house looking for all his equipment. Kevin was chewing his lip to shreds and reaching for his fathers hand.
"D-Daddy...."

Alex gave his son's hand a squeeze before running to wake Rick.
Rick was downstairs a few minutes later, kneeling beside Kevin, tears in his eyes.
"Mike..."
