Somewhere With You

"Rick, baby don't. You pester me I could mess up and screw them both up. And mess with Kevin...you dont wanna do that to him while he is in labor. Nothing I could do would help him much anyways." Mike stood beside them and felt Kevin's belly.

Rick was going to lose it. There was no time left to change Kevin's mind.
"Baby...."

Kevin took his hand and pulled him close.
"Rick, baby....It wont matter, im fucked either way. Momma don't wanna tell you and daddy all my problems and I was scared too. This baby will hurt me either way, so just sit back and be proud because your about to be a daddy."

Rick's lower lip trembled.
"Baby no..." He couldn't even form a full sentence.

"Its too late Rick. Im not going to die baby, its not like im going away. Me and your baby will be here." Kevin let out a small cry as another attraction hit him.

"But you'll be hurt... you won't be there to raise it with me at first...."

Mike took Rick's hand.
"Rick, im about to start. Tell him you love him and then no more pestering him. You might wanna go into the other room."
Mike held a shiny silver knife.

Rick was shaking.
"I love you so so much...." He couldn't watch this... couldn't even hear Kevin's screams. But he couldn't leave him...

Mike put up a small tent so Kevin couldn't see his belly.
Mike then hooked up and Iv, they did not have all the things a hospital did but it was close. Mike handed Rick the bag.
"Rick baby, hold it up high, this is his morphine. If you let it drop and he stops getting it. He will feel me cutting him open now you be careful." Mike then went to Alex.
"Alex baby, I might need you...." He had the spots marked, all he had to go was start slicing.

Rick held the bag up high, like he was told. He clenched his eyes shut tight.
Alex nodded at Mike.
"I'm not sure what I'm doing but just tell me what you need and I'll try."

Mike nodded an kissed him sweetly before firmly pressing a hand to Kevin's belly and letting the knife pierce the skin before dragging it down. The skin of coarse split and gushed ruby red blood. Mike made a nice sized cut before looking at Alex. "Hold it open."

Alex grimaced but did as he was told, holding it open for his lover to work on their son.

Mike eased his hands into the opened hole, spilling more blood as he struggled for a moment before pulling out a small, tiny, head.

Alex was never the queasy one but he hated seeing his baby cut open. He turned his head away as he continued to hold open the skin.

Mike cursed, just as he had thought the cord was wrapped around the small neck. Mike took a deep deep breath before working to unwind the umbilical cord. Kevin's pain yelps filled the room.

Rick cooed softly to Kevin, trying to soothe him the best he could.
Alex forwned. The poor baby... his poor baby.

Kevin whimpered as hot tears spilt down his cheeks.
Mike wore a deep frown, it took him a little bit but he got the cord from around the child's neck. He gave a sigh as he gently tugged, pulling the small body from its mothers stomach. He quickly turned and found a blanket before handing the baby boy off to Alex.
"Clean it off...."
Then he realized the room was dead silent.
Kevin let out a blood curling scream.
The baby was not crying.
The baby was not breathing.

Rick's heart would have stopped, if it was still beating. The morphine bag slipped from his hands, luckily Alex caught it, the baby still in the other arm. Rick simply slid to the floor, shaking.

"D-Daddy...." Kevin whimpered, his face pale as the hot tears poured from his eyes. Mike growled and took the baby from Alex, he took his suction tube and sucked the water and blood from the child's nose and mouth before spanking its bottom, minutes later the room was filled with the first cries of a new born baby boy.

Rick's eyes widened as he took Kevin's hand.
His baby was crying... his baby was alive.

Kevin's hand was limp in Rick's. His breathing shallow, his eyes were half lidded. Mike handed the child to Alex and told him to clean it up while Mike stitched up his own baby.

Alex walked off to clean up the baby. It really was beautfiul...

"Alex!"
Mike stopped him before picked up some scissors and offering them to Rick.
"You wanna cut the umbilical cord so Alex doesn't yank it out."

"O-okay..." Rick stammered before taking the scissors and cutting the umbilical cord off.

Mike tied it off and let Alex go clean the baby up while he finished closing the gaping hole in Kevin's belly.
He was unconscious.
