Somewhere With You

Rick whimpered as he sat down beside Kevin.
He wanted to see the baby but he didn't want to see it before Kevin did.

Mike wrapped Kevin's abdomen up in gause before kneeling down and with tears in his eyes he whispered a sweet "I love you." To his baby before kissing his cheek. He looked up at Rick and took his face in both hands before kissing his forehead. "Rick....sweetheart lets go see your baby."

"No... not without Kevin." Rick shook his head, tears rolling slowly down his cheeks.

"Rick....Come on. He wont be up anytime soon. Hold your baby that Kevin went through so much to have." Mike tugged on his arm.

"NO. I won't see him yet. I want us to see him together." Rick said frimly, holding Kevin's hand.

"Rick. Please. Kevin would want you to see your baby. Please...." He stood up and tugged harder.
"He wouldnt want you to see him like this and neither do I."

"Mike, I want to wait. It's my baby. Please, respect my wishes or whatever." He placed a kiss on Kevin's cheek.

"Rick. He is not waking up......He will NOT wake up for....God knows how long, I just...I know and you have got to care for this child." Mike sighed and turned his head. "Alex!"

"Yeah baby!?" Alex called from the other room where he stood with the baby.

"Come show Rick his beautiful baby boy!"
Mike held his hand tightly.

"Alex don't!" Rick exclaimed.
"Why not?" Alex frowned as he peeked in the room.
"Not without Kev!"

"Alex. Kevin is sick baby....He wont wake up anytime soon. That baby deserves to see its daddy. Now bring it here!" Mike sighed.

"Mike..." Rick said cautiously. "I want him to see it with me. Now, I want to wait."

"For how long? Weeks, months, are you going to abandon that child like that? Kevin would be so pissed off at you. He just went through all that and you wont even hold your new born baby?"

"H-he could be out for months...?" Rick stammered.

"He could be out for years. Depends on how hurt he is, how sick he is. And when he does get up I will have to work with him, he will need therapy among other things...."

Rick started trembling all over again.
"Damnit Mike.... I-I told you..."

Mike gathered him into his arms and rocked him back and forth.
"There was no stopping this. This is the price of him having this child knowing he was so weak. Rick please, go hold your baby, hold Kevin's baby for him....Love it while he can't."

rick sobbed into his chest.
"Mike, goddamnit, I don't want to raise the baby alone. I told him not to have it. We could've waited til he was stronger then had another..."

"Rick...sweetheart Kevin is special....He wont ever be especially strong, not even Alex knows he is diabetic, their are limits to what he can do. And you wont be alone. Me and Alex are going to help you until Kevin is healthy enough too. Now you go ahead and you cry, im here for you baby...momma's here." Mike cooed gently.

"But it's not the same Mike! I won't have my fucking lover! Everyone has someone! Hell, even Chris has Dustin now! And I'll have NO ONE!"

"HEY! YOU STOP THAT!" Mike snapped. "You do fucking have someone. He is right there. I know he is our right now and I know.....I know you didnt ask for this but this is your lover, your fiance. You don't have to sit here and deal with this considering he is out but I fucking hoped you would, I know Alex would for me."

"I WILL DAMNTI! But that doesn't mean it won't fucking upset me!" Rick snapped.

"Dont you fucking snap at me Rick. You are not too big for me to whip your ass." Mike glared. " I know your upset and im trying to help you and my baby and my grand baby." Mike held him tightly and kissed the top of his head.

Rick simply cried harder.
He didn't take being without a lover well. Whether it was just a fuck back in highschool or one of his real relationships, he needed someone with him. And not someone like Mike, his brother or Alex..
